Restoring a Defaced website

Recently I realized that a few of my WP sites have been hacked and defaced.
Here's one New Page 1

I have a backup, but it's abit old, around 1 month ago.
What other ways can I take to restore my sites? I also realize that I can actually still access my wp-login and access my dashboard and stuff.
What should I do?

Thanks!

If your hosting company is any good, you will find their backups are no older than 48 hours.

Contact your host to see if they can restore a backup. If that was a Wordpress site, I use File Manager in Cpanel to zip up my domain directory. Store the zip file. Then go in and export the database and store it. Something bad happens, just delete all the tables in the database and import the good one, upload the zip file to domain folder and unzip it and you're back in business. Same with an html site, only skip the database step.

Solved the problem by creating a new WP installation in another folder, then deleted all the index.php, index.htm and all other stuff that I suspect where the hackers files, then copied the index.php from the new WP folder, and it works.

BUT, I'm not fully convinced that it is fully cleaned, perhaps there might be some stuff that was disturbed in the MySQL databases.

And I love you're sugesstion sbucciarel. Definitely will do that from now onwards!
