I'm starting a blog and wanted to have an email newsletter. But when people sign up for the feed, they are already going to be hearing from me 3 times a week or so. A newsletter on top of that might be overkill. Plus I'm thinking anything I put in my newsletter I would want to put on my blog. I do have offers I would love to promote from time to time but can't I do that with the feed? Just put up an article containing what would go in an email blast. Am I missing something? Why would I need both? |

Yes. Both. Always. With an opt-in form on every page. Building a list is one of the surest ways to make money in marketing. It was so before the Internet and I'm certain it will be so whatever the future brings in our lifetime. Ram |

Definitely both. If possible offer an incentive for subscribing too.

feedburner offers both options, i think. But, its better to have a feed, and a separate opt-in (offering a free report initially) |

Yes have both for sure. Offer something different to your email newsletter than what your feed offers. Such as a report or e-course.
