Newbies Strategy...

Do you want a good kick up the backside?...

...to propel you forwards?

A word of advice which might just help you to start making more money, more quickly?

Story... perhaps you can relate?...

When I first started out in Internet marketing, several years ago, I was bewildered by all of the information in front of me. Where the hell do I start?

I looked at this. I looked at that. I looked at something else. And all the while my pain and frustration (for a while) simply increased. In the end I was running around in circles like a professional wailer from the Middle East beating my chest in a great lamentation. Aghhhhh...

But you want a headstart right? Something to cut through all of the crap and unwanted information which isn't applicable to your personal circumstances, correct?

Bear with me... this could be useful to you.

Something I've learned over the years is not to involve myself in niches which I know nothing about.

Instead I focus on past experiences in life...

Things that have caused me a great deal of personal frustration and pain. Why?...

Because in going through this personal pain or frustration myself personally, I have an in-depth understanding of what exactly it feels like to be in that situation. And so...

I can more easily relate now to my intended target audience or market.

For Example...

If you've experienced...

A phobia of flying but you've overcome it...

Or...

If you've personally experienced a phobia of crowds but overcome it, this...

...is extremely rich material for you to tap into.

You've been there. You've done it. You've got the t-shirt to prove it. So now...

Ask Yourself...

What information do I...

...have to hand which could be extremely valuable to other people who like me, are currently going through a similar experience?

What can I offer them, which will help this market niche of individuals to be where I am today, with my solution?

And...

If you can't write an information product about this yourself, either an eBook or hotsheet short report, look at some of the affiliate offers which provide very meaningful solutions within the subject matter of your choice.

And promote them instead.

You'll be a hell of a lot more enthusiastic and you'll communicate with a lot more authority IF you market something which you've previously experienced at the sharp end.

If you need to write sales copy for your own product, having been in this situation before, come through it, overcome your personal hurdles and found the ideal solution... writing the sales copy with all of it's associated benefits, will come a lot more naturally to you.

And if you apply this advice into a plan of action, you'll make a lot more money far more quickly too, rather than, taking on a subject you know next to nothing about.

I hope some of you find this useful.

Good luck to you all!

Best,

Mark Andrews

The idea of hotsheets is a good one and one that I hadn't thought to use at all - but there's no reason why this couldn't work for any niche you are in.

Like for example, a hotsheet which explains a difficult or frequently misunderstood problem in your chosen niche and then gives you a solution.

Like you said, it doesn't have to be a complete product, but I can see from here how information like this marketed in the correct way could really help.

So Pete - my question to you is how have you used this to make more money?

It takes no more than a couple of hours to put a hotsheet together. It can contain anything from home building plans to knitting patterns or recipes, whatever floats your boat that you have a great deal of knowledge about.

Containing no fluff, it just gets straight to the heart of the subject matter. And these can then be sold for anything between $7-$27 each or whatever price point you feel is optimal for the highest conversion rate.

An example of how this could be used?

Boat building plans. Your hotsheet is the front end offer. It contains basic information about the fun and satisfaction which can be gained from building your own boat. Highly pertinent info, tools you'll need, space requirements, timber or fiberglass supplies etc.

And once this is bought, the hotsheet contains a further link to your boat building plans website which contains hundreds of further hotsheets, actual plans to build any one of a number of boats. And all of these individual boat building plans (hotsheets) these are each priced individually for a lot more money.

You can do this for just one niche or many.

      An example website?

I think the key point to take away from this post is .....you looked and this, you looked at that, you looked at something else....you carry on looking at other things when alot of the stuff you've already looked at actually work.

There is no magic bullet. If that's what you're looking for you're in the wrong business. Did you read that...business...not get rich quick scheme, or easy money but a business that takes lots of time and hard work.

If you want the internet lifestyle of short hours working from home it is possible...BUT...you have to put in lots and lots of time and hard work up front to reach that stage.

STOP looking for the magic bullet and take some action, don't stop 'till you make it.

I always believe that if you build on something that you're passionate about, success is just a matter of time. It wouldn't even feel like work since you're doing something that you love to do.

Pay attention all the new comers. Someone has taken a lot of effort in putting down this article and it is really helpful as it has stuff from a load of different places. If you think that you have what it takes and want to make it big then you should start paying attention to what has been written.

      Thanks, you made me chuckle.

I wouldn't say 'a lot of effort', took me about 3-4 minutes to write it out that's all. I've got hundreds of tips here and just every now and then... bung one out there in the hope it will help somebody.

But... thanks for the compliment, very much appreciated.

        You make an excellent point!

I discovered something to blog about by accident and it will work. Instead of trying to blog about crap I know nothing about, I can use my actual career and knowledge to make something people will like and benefit from. I think that's the ticket. Wasting time trying to make up mediocre content about junk is useless.

What is your passion? What do you enjoy writing about the most Claire? What do you enjoy sharing with others? What is it about you, that others love to hear you talk about?

These are all probably your best niches to target.

When you're highly passionate about a subject or niche, this enthusiasm comes shining through your words. It aids your motivation and the positive rebound benefit is your credibility and trust as perceived by your target audience rises as a result and you therefore end up making more money.

On the other hand, if you choose a niche you know next to nothing about, believe you me people will be able to tell. They'll see the struggle in your wording. They'll perceive that you're simply piggybacking on a popular niche but through your words, they'll be able to tell that your heart isn't really in it. Your sales won't be so significant as a direct result.

It's always better to stick with what you already know and are best at.

Doesn't matter what it is, with a little imagination you can always make money off pretty much every niche / hobby subject under the sun. Simply identify the frustration or pain of your market and deliver to them, their ideal solution and you'll be onto a winner.

          Kindest regards,

          Pete Walker

            A great read, Pete!

I have learned so much more from getting out there and making loads of mistakes and finding my way out of them than, I have following any course.

I make a good living online now - just from getting in there and having a go and seeing how things work for myself. Everyone's path to success is going to be different and there's no one way of doing it. But, sticking to something that you know, or that you have personally overcome or experienced, is the best way of getting started.

Who better than to teach others than those that have been there, experienced the problem, and have found the light at the end?

            Great advice.

I couldn't agree more. When you jump into niches in which you have some experience, you have a wealth of info at your fingertips to start writing about.

However, don't let a limiting belief that you're not an expert prevent you from jumping into a niche. If you have some experience about the niche and like it to some degree, the more deeply you go into it the more you'll learn and in time will know a great deal on the niche.

I've jumped into niches I know nothing about and I simply didn't get too motivated to pursue them. I kept wanting to work on niches I liked and knew something about. Ultimately, I realized it was best to focus on what I liked and knew about. It worked and is working.

Excellent Pete! Writing about what you know from personal experience really is the best, all things equal. And the other part that's important, at least to me, is that whatever you produce needs to solve a problem, not just talk about the problem.

This is a rule writers have drilled into their heads over and over. "Write what you know." In the case of writing, I think it's... outdated, is a nice word to use. There are so many ways to research now that with just a little bit of digging, you can repurpose factual information for another audience, whether it's for education or entertainment.

But when you intend to sell someone that information directly, it's not always enough to be knowledgeable through secondary means. I can accurately write a character in a book who is a doctor. I can research enough and interview real doctors to compile enough information so that it's believable and would past muster under the scrutiny of practicing doctors.

But I cannot dispense medical advice.

Too few seem to realize the difference. You are selling information to people. These people are going to apply this information. Why would you ever lead them down a path you have not walked yourself?

Great advice, Pete. All of your posts on the WF are real treasures and I enjoy reading them.
