Help with a Decision
Thank you for allowing me become a member and for all your rich content on the forum.
Having come from simply being a massive content consumer and not having a clue about how people make money online, I am now at a stop or throttle button moment.. I have read enough information to get a good idea as to the possibilities within IM and some of the main options available to make money (adsense, list making, affiliates, selling of own products...)
I either stop here or actually jump in. If I go ahead I plan to set an ambitious goal of 1000 usd profit in 2 months, with no experience building sites or writing copy (I'm a mech. eng., marketing is fascinating but a very different beast). I'm also thinking about doing an introductory video course or joining a site such as chrisfarrell's which came up in a few places.
So, I have some questions:
- 1) Do you think it is a waste of money to do a video course (350 usd) or join chris farrell's site? Is it better to just get started using what is available on this forum as the guide?
- 2) How do you view the skills acquired in IM in 5 years time?
- 3) What do you think about outsourcing everything, from article writing to website making (noticed a member product in the for sale section) to SEO?
- 4) And lastly: When I considered getting into [outsourcing] article writing through google keyword search (hubpages related work) and making money with adsense, I found that I was on the tail end of that trend and that the market was saturated for this type of work after only a few years. Looking at the current trend of affiliate marketing, niche sites, etc: What do you think about the dilution of the web quality experience, if any, through more and more niche sites offering to sell products; are consumers being hardened further, with even less attention span, making it harder for the sell?
I hope you find the time to answer these wordy questions! Either way, thank you for reading.
