How to Bump Up My Articles for a Higher Search Engine Ranking?

Hi warriors,

Got a question regarding bumping up my articles to get a higher search engine ranking..

I've got an article (published in ezinearticles.com) targeting a certain keyword phrase and it is currently sitting on the second page of Google for that keyword phrase.

How do I bump it up to the first page?

I've already created a squidoo lense and backlink it with keyword phrase to my article.

Any other methods to bump it up?

Regards,

Muhammad Noor

Social bookmark it to a few sites, but personally I would place the article on my own site or blog first and aim to get the higher ranking on my own site.

I posted the article to my blog first, rewrite it slightly and then post it to ezinearticles.com. The article on ezinearticles is the one that appeared on the 2nd page of Google.

Now I'm thinking whether to boost the article on ezinearticles or give more backlink juice to the one on my blog..

      I did some social bookmarking..

Optimize your article with the right keyword and get lots of link backs with anchor text in it.

  • A great way to bump it up is to tweak the article a bit and submit it to another 3-4 article directories and in the resource box link the article to your EZA article. The key is to make sure you aroudn the article for each submission. This will give you a big bump!

Rewrite the article and post on Squidoo but in your resource link on Squidoo link back to your article that you want to bump at EzineArtilces.

Rewrite the rewrite for submission to GoArticle directory with link to your article at EzineArticles.

Now grab the rss feed from your EzineArticle article and ping it at pingomatic. The ping will get Google to look at your EzineArticle article again but this time you will have two backlinks to it.

You can find a list of article directories and Social sites and build your backlinks then ping your article at EA once a day.

Check out Angela Edwards here at the forum about backlinks.

Thanks guys for the advice! I have problems keeping up with what you all have said..

    1. Rewrite article and submit to other article directories (link back to article at EZA)

    2. Bookmark at Social Bookmarking sites

    3. Ping it at Pingomatic to keep Google updated on the articles backlinks

    Great! Thanks!

I never would have discovered this if I hadn't been using the Zemanta blogging plugin for Firefox. It is a plugin that adds related links to other blogs at the end of your blog posts. You can pick and choose them.

But there is a site called ArticlesBase which shows up every time I use the plugin. It's an article directory. So if you submit articles there, chances are your article may show up in Zemanta and then you will get all sorts of links pointing to your article on ArticlesBase.

Muhammad, before I got crazy trying too much tricky stuff, I would write 3-4 more articles going after the same keyword phrase. You could do that in an hour. Maybe Google might take a liking to one of them more.

Ezinearticles' policy is that you not over-stuff your keywords. They say that 1% is the max that they want. I've got by with 3-4% but I've been cought a few times and had to re-write them. I might also try zeroing in on a more specific keyword phrase if your's is very broad. Maybe there's a lot of competition for your phrase on Google. Good luck!

If your article is stuck on page two you need backlinks to move it up in the SERPs. Like others have suggested submitting to other article directories and linking back to your EZA article is a good way to get backlinks.

Other ways include blog commenting, submitting RSS feeds, make and submit podcasts, make and submit videos, use free platforms like squidoo, hubpages, blogger etc that all link back to your article.

Their are MANY different ways to get backlinks and backlinks are what will push your article from page two to page one.

I post to ezinearticles, wait a few days after it was accepted, then I distribute to other article directories with a link to my ezine article within the bio boxes. It will boost your ezinearticle significantly.

    Give it a try.

It may be too late for an EZA article if its been there for a while. If it were on page two with another directory, I'd say you have a much better chance of making it rise in the search engines because of the lesser amount of competition from other EZA's.

    Let us know, would ya?

I had an EZA article on page two. I did some social bookmarking and the next day it was on page one. I kept sending it a few backlinks a day to try to maintain that position and after bouncing around in the SERPs a bit it seems to have settled in at #5 on page one in Google for the target keyword. It's been #4, 5, or 6 for 3 weeks now.
