Need advice on building a website

I am going to build a website on a Niche which I think will be a big hit. I am just wanting to know how many affiliate products as well as click bank products would you put in a website?

I have many sites that show reasonable prices which I think people would buy.

I am going to use Iweb of my mac book pro, but is there a more simple way in building websites. I have the design in my head of what I want it to look like so I am looking to get this up and running on Monday.

Any help and advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi there albag999,

    1) The balance of a beneficial visitor experience to ads/affliliate links/products has to be tested. Start with the ads at the top, side & bottom of content, not too many, monitor the results and make changes repeating the cycle until you find the sweet spot

    2) With regard to building websites, you say you've already built many, I would simply copy the most successful. I'm old fashioned and like to keep mine simple. I have 'flashy' sites with all the bells & whistles and sites that are extremely simple. I have yet found no discernible difference in the success of these different types. So now I just keep with the simple ones because I have to spend less time on them, I don't even have header images on some and they do just fine.

You could always use a FREE wordpresss.org theme - there are over 1400, and they are well coded and have been given stamp of approval by the WP team. Some themes have ability to swap-out header graphics for something unique, and changing background colours etc. Or google 'best free wordpress themes 2011' and take a look. Some very nice free stuff out there. Woothemes have a few FREE themes for download. If you're willing to pay $39, Elegant themes are awesome - beautiful. I've looked at Artisteer, but seems very tacky! Also Webplus X5 looks like a nice web design package.

    Hey,

Personally I would promote one affiliate product per website... not that I wouldn't but I haven't yet found the need to, because I usually find that going for the product with the highest gravity or conversions seems to do the job!

However, the only reason I would justify for myself to cover a few affiliate products was if my keyword domain was very broad (example: healthyliving.com you could promote; Yoga, WeightLoss, Dieting products, ect)

Also, I agree with #londoncoffee it might save you a bit of time if you use wordpress.org sites, as they are pre-made sites that you can just plop your content on, with a very easy to use interface.

    Hope this helps,

    Colin
