Anyone selling digital downloads on eBay?

I was reading over eBay's digital download guidelines here. Looks like you cannot sell eBooks via digital download, but you can sell 'home made movies' and 'mp3 music you wrote, recorded, and own the rights to'.

So I was thinking, what about making an instructional audio course, or video course with with PDF guides to go along with it? Seems like this would be allowed.

How do you think something like that would do on eBay? I have no experience with eBay but I'm looking to get into it to add an additional source of income.
All opinions welcome.

Thanks,
Dan

As I read it, anything that is to be digital downloads , ebooks included have to be listed strictly in Everything Else > Information Products category using only the Classified Ad Format.

They seem to be only mentioning an alternative for ebooks as an example of when delivered by postal mail may be listed elsewhere.

This has been the case for may years now

You cannot sell digital downloads on Ebay Auctions/buy it now/shops.

      You can sell digital information
i.e. ebooks (you have rights to), music (you wrote) and videos (you made) but they must be delivered on physical media

      i.e. paper book, CD, DVD

You can sell digital downloads using Ebay Classifieds.
Ebay classified transactions take place outside if Ebay
so technically you are not selling digital downloads on
Ebay merely advertising them on Ebay.

by putting the info on a disc, its a tangible item then.create an ebay account, then click sell item and place in the relevent catagory, normally everything else/information products.

I also Don't Think That Selling Digital Goods in E bay is a Good Idea. There is much more chances of Charge backs, because ebay does not developed any ideal solutions for digital delivery.

With selling digital products you may want to go with a hosted solution so delivery is automatic. eBay is focused on digital products.

For selfmade digital products I would go with https://www.createspace.com. It belongs to amazon. So you add your stuff to createspace and the people buy or download via Amazon. It's called "Amazon instant video".

Does it allow instant delivery of products? What are their fees?

You may try this, burn your ebooks or guides info onto cds or dvds and mail out to your customers as physical goods. There are also online services will do this on your behalf by charging some commissions.

Disclaimer: Junk and over-hyped digital products don't count in this reply
      . :-)

I'll have to agree with the people who advised you to burn your digital content onto a CD/DVD. I used the same tactic for selling one of my eBooks on eBay, and I:

*didn't mention a reference to the downloadable product or the URL in my ad.

*wrote unique copy for the ad so it wouldn't be easily cross-referenced to the digital download

*the refund policy included that the physical disc must be returned in the event of a refund request, and in accordance with my refund policy (for the digital product)

I found that people are less inclined to return a digital product if they have to go through the "hassle" of repackaging it, AND paying to ship it back before the refund period expires.

      Especially
true for serial refunders and scammers.
