Help me Choose an IM Model Please!

Hi Warriors,
i am looking for some help with getting into the IM game. I really like the idea of making a passive income with websites. I am willing to put the work in - up to 4 hours a day, but my beginners optimismn is turning into slight pessimism. I am confronted with a tsunami of money-making deals, ebooks, seminars, zero to hero stories, warnings, successes, free downloads, fiverr incomes, IM secrets, cheap offers with $999 etc. I am very serious about this. I am an ex web designer, tired of the game and want to write more and earn a serious income. I have looked on flippa.com and i'm disappointed at the number of scammers and crap sites selling like ice cream and costing a few bucks more - all showing adsense sales and 'i'm selling because' stories - yawn!
Please can genuine Warriors help me choose a good ebook or learning course which they have actually purchased and used with great success. I will not thank anyone selling me junk affiliate links.
Please, i am setting up hosting, buying a few domains soon, and i just need an IM Business Model that i can follow and make it work.
Thanks in Advance!

You’re going to get ten replies with "pick a proven system and try it until you can make it work" - my advice - pick a system and do it until you can make it work.

Then teach people your new adapted system. Then your IM career will go from there and we can all join your $5k coaching programme in 18 months time.

I can mention a few. I am doing Power 3 Marketing right now and the training is amazing. I was able to create sites that after a few weeks sometimes days would jump to the first page of Google. I am not making any money (other than a few adsense dollars) with it yet only because I haven't consistently gone after the businesses who might want to rent these sites or buy them outright. It's an interesting IM model that I think is worth you looking into, especially if you are an ex-webdesigner.

As a complete beginner, I would say your best course of action would be to quite literally "follow your heart".

Do you have a passion? Set up a Wordpress.org blog (NOT the .com version), and begin writing posts. From your initial post in this thread, I would say you can, most certainly write well, and have the ability to express yourself.

One piece of advice, if, purely as an example, your passion is eating jelly babies, don't just write broadly on that subject, narrow right down and focus your writing on yellow jelly babies. See what I mean?

Your audience will be smaller, but it will be extremely focused, and, in the long run, it will provide you with a far better financial return.

Hold off on buying any domain names until you are certain what niche you want to follow, then go for a domain name which is very focused.

To promote your new blog, write a new, focused article every day. Publish it on your blog, then, once it has been picked up and indexed by Google, publish it at well on Ezine Articles.

Never try to sell to your growing audience in these articles. Use them to form a relationship; inform them and teach your audience about your chosen niche.

Then, write an interesting report which answers some problem relative to your niche and offer it free to your blog readers. As past of the download process, capture their names and email addresses. This LIST will form the foundation of how you will make money. You nearly always sell to your list, not via your blog in general.

Don't for the moment waste your time and money buying any ebooks, guides, etc. here. Maybe, as time passes, you will decide you need help in specific directions, but as often as not, you will receive more than enough advice, just asking questions here.

Having said that, you will need to sift through that especially carefully, because there are many people here who give very bad advice in the guise of being experts.

Sift out the wheat from the chaff, and with time, you will know yourself who is genuinely providing good advice and who really doesn't know what they are talking about.

      Good luck...

Why not develop some small micro niche websites based on some solid keyword research? It's a proven method; Easy to get started, little start-up cost, traffic almost instantly (if you did your keyword research right). The more work you put into it, the more you earn.

Pick one niche that you believe in and stick with it. Be determined and follow through and don't give up. You can choose from a wide variety of niches but the most important thing is to stick with your idea and follow through. The most common mistake that people do is jumping from niche/program to niche/program and, sadly never gets anything done...

    Hope that helps!

Believe it or not, you don't need 100Gigs Internet Marketing courses. Most of them are nothing more then a piece of junk.
My recommendation for passive income is Email Marketing and Niche Website Marketing (selling Amazon, CPA, Clickbank pro private affiliate products through your specific Niche targeted website.)

These two models always works me.

My advice would be to steer clear of any product you find. You need to focus on a specific niche and master it. Say for example traffic, if you become the master at driving traffic you can create your own buzz and sell anything.

Instead of dipping your toes in the water, dive in head first and specialize

Thankyou all, especially you AnniePot. I think there's good advice here. Most of you are saying GO NICHE and just be myself, stick with something and build a good site. Yes, i think that's a good way. I have already chosen a few niche areas and got the domain names ready to buy. I enjoy writing and i'm even thinking of doing a bit of copywriting. I am still very sceptical of these GET RICH QUICK IM sellers. I am not suggesting they don't work, but if i found a Wishing Well at the end of my garden that granted 5 wishes every month to anyone, would i tell my family? Would i tell friends and strangers? No!

The first thing is to determine what is your end goal. Do you want something that makes money and keeps you busy or do you want something that makes money passively so that you can do other things?

Next, determine exactly how much money you need on a daily basis. Do this by calculating all of your current monthly expenses and anything fun that you plan to buy in the next year. Divide the cost of the fun stuff you plan to buy by 12 to get the monthly cost and add it to your monthly expenses. Add a 10% safety factor to your monthly expenses. Now divide the monthly expenses by 30 days. That will give you your daily profit goal for your business.

From there, you can determine your method of making money.

It is only after knowing what you want, how much you need, and how you are going to do it that you can even start looking at niches. Here's the reason:

While a lot of people will tell you that you should go with your passion, the reality is that your passion may not be in a market that is big enough to pay the bills. I tell you this from experience.

My suggestion is to find the things that have a lot of traffic and a lot of products, THEN see which of those you are most interested in pursuing. The last thing you want is to get into a market, spend a ton of time and money building your presence there only to find that the market is too small to support you.

I also suggest that you should get into multiple markets so that all of your eggs aren't in one basket.

Finally, adniquedesign suggestion is a good one. If you have the ability to do web design, you could offer your services here to start building your business's coffers. No matter what anyone says, this business costs money to get things going. Having funds available for your marketing is going to be a tremendous asset starting out.

You could end up spending a lot of time and effort building something that makes little or no money.. either there's little traffic, or they just aren't 'buyers'.

For me, the key is finding a source of traffic that I can tap into. Is there decent search traffic I can capture with SEO/PPC/etc.. you also want to make sure that those people are willing/able to purchase products. I never worry about competition - it's a sign that there's buyers

I'd resist the urge to spend most of your time writing a bunch of content for a website you build (as a web developer myself, it's very hard to fight this urge - we all want to have a cool 'portal' site).. in my experience, that same content made a lot more money when used as material for an email newsletter.

I like the fact you are taking a realistic approach to this. I'm also glad you said you want to write more because making money with a niche blog does require some writing--unless you outsource the content and what not. I, however, prefer to write stuff myself. I just like knowing I have the skill set to actually make stuff happen - pride, I guess. The residual income, being able to generate multiple income streams, and being able to work around your own schedule are great reasons to start a niche blog--especially with the holidays coming up.

When it comes to training for learning how to make money with niche blogs, I recommend Unstoppable Affiliate by Andrew Hansen and Josh Stanton. They use a practical, realistic approach to teach the budding marketer how to make real money online with niche sites--without all the fluff. In addition to the basic training course, they also offer an optional coaching program you want to take part in.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Review sites were a model that got me started in IM. Actually, I've tweaked the strict review model into something broader ... websites in a niche or market that reviews products (digital and physical) that I use plus many non-review articles as well driving traffic to reviews and other pre-selling page. This isn't rocket science or anything new. It's the model that worked for me the fasted.

It requires effort, but in time can generate decent income within a few months to a year. It's scalable as well and you can start building a list from the site. Solid, basic, simple stuff that works. Just be sure to write unique content and inform readers.

I think you do need to build a list somewhere down the line. This is because long-term success is based on a model that develops a relationship with customers so they become repeat buyers. The front-end product they buy is often a way to start this relationship, and so putting buyers on your list is something you want to do to continue this relationship and turn them into raving fans!
