How do I get in on the loop???

Being a newbie and all, I've got to ask. When new products are released, (affiliate programs, software, etc.) how do people find out about them BEFORE HAND! The reason I ask, is that I would soon like to become an affiliate to different products, but when I'm ready to do that I would like to become an affiliate before the
product(s) are released and the initial boom of sales has subsided or slowed! Where do I go or what should I be doing to get the inside info??? Thanks!

I have to preface this to say that I am not on any of these "prelaunch" lists but that is an interesting question.

The best way to get in on the whole product sales cycle is to get to know the authorities that sell in a niche. If you wanted to do it in the IM niche then it would be best to start building a list and getting to know guys like Eben Pagan, John Reese, Mike Filsaime and Jeff Walker or another tight knit group. You will find that guys in bigger niches run in packs, I am in the weight loss / fitness niche and find the same thing.

Once you get to know them you need to have something to offer. Build a big list and they will be happy to let you mail to their list ahead of time.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is that you should seek out the folks that you are interested in becoming an Affiliate for and subscribe to their lists.

Most of the time (in my experience) these "advance notice" emails are the result of being on the Publisher's list and/or being involved in a JV with the publisher.

A big factor will be credibility and relationship, both of which come with time.

As mentioned, building relationships with the "big dogs" in the niche is a good first step. You'll also want to build relationships with the JV brokers in the niche (like Mike Merz).

Secondly -- prove yourself. Once you start making money for someone, build a big list, run a busy blog or unroll your own popular product, you'll be beating off the requests with a stick. Seriously. You'll think back on this post you made and laugh at the idea that today you were trying to figure out how to get advanced notice/get people to email you/ etc. You'll rue the day. lol

      That's funny...

When I started, I was offered more "pre-launch" opportunities then established products.

      Mostly hype...
