Building Squeeze Page using PHPlist Mailing list

Hey fellow Warriors

I'm trying to set up my squeeze page using PHPlist Mailing List services (Free at my Hostgator Cpanel)

But it's seems abit dodgy thing to do for the person with no PhP knowledge.

Was going for Aweber but they dont accept neither PayPal nor Maestro so screw them.

Guys, any suggestions about wheter there is a point trying to build a squeeze page iwht PHPlist

Or are there any Aweber Alternatives which accept Maestor CC or PayPal ?

Thanks

PHPList is a great open source tool that I have used many times, however one thing to keep in mind is that it is NOT a sequential autoresponder. In other words PHPList can capture e-mail addresses, send a confirmation letter, add your user to a mailing list and send them to a predefined page. However it cannot be used to automatically mail out "canned" messages every day or every week (such as an e-course or a series of tips). For this you require a sequential autoresponder.

Another product for the DIY mail responder is Infinite Responder, this is an open source autoresponder that does sequential responses. It's a good product but if you aren't well versed in PHP you may find it difficult to implement.

One other point - mail from DIY mail responders often ends up in the junk mail bin. This can happen when you use shared hosting and one of the other customers has done something to end up on a spam blacklist. Because you share the same IP address you can be placed on this list by association.

Otherwise you could definitely use PHPList to build your list. There website has some fairly decent documentation and it is a good stable product.

    Good Luck

      Thanks

What I think is just for the 1st time I will have to send my promotional emails manually...

Either will try to set up a Cron Job with my CPanel and see if I come up with something.

And BTW Aweber is farr too overpriced today

      Cheers

GetResponse all the way is Aweber is too expensive. That's who I personally use and am very happy with.
