    Some believe it's one of many factor, makes sense, certainly would be a negative trust factor for any individuals checking your site integrity.

    I check out the Google Map satellite and street view image of domain registration addresses of sites that look like Chinese sites using a bogus U.S. address.

    (Provacy is a lot cheaper on namecheap than godadddy)

    It's suggested that because Google is a registrar, they can pierce the privacy of proxy protection. My service indicated no when asked, seems it takes something like a court order to get the info out of them.
