Default Merchants Leaving CJ

This week I've had at least 3 emails from various merchants at Commission Junction saying they are leaving. Some have moved to Shareasale, others to an inhouse program.

This is good news - the more merchants I can use away from CJ the better!

I wonder what is causing this exodus.

I realise that, but I've never actually received any such emails before and I'm signed up with alot of merchants. Just strange that there's 3 in the space of a few days.

It is mainly because of the high fees that CJ charges. There is a minimum fee that CJ charges each month that the merchant has to pay irrespective whether there were any sales or not.

It is not particulaly new good news per se. Shareasale has an even higher merchant turnover rate as the companies there tends to be much smaller than CJ. We are going to see more and more merchants leaving this year and it is tough work for affiliates who have invested quite a lot of their time.

I believe this will bring better competition to the market. Very soon there will be stronger competition for Clickbank. More variety for us marketers.

I'll tell you why I left, I never got paid by them! On two separate occasions, I had friends order from my site and not once did I get paid by them. I was even at one of their computers when they ordered. I wrote CJ and they could have cared less. I never did get my money!

I was an affiliate of Bass Pro Shops on my fishing website and did close to a $1000.00 in my commissions with them every month and they went to CJ. My commissions went to $0.00 immediately. I finally figured out why...CJ never paid, Hell, Lisa even ordered from my site and it never showed up nor did I get paid.

I do not blame them for leaving cj - I left them about 8 years ago and have not looked back since.. I was a merchant and all cj does is scam merchants. When I setup my account with them years ago it was like $350 to setup the tracking. No idea what it is now probably more..

I never liked them since they frauded my merchant account. Glad to see some merchant wise up and go with a trusted company such as shareasale.
