Using WordPress.com For Backlinks?

INTERNET MARKETING

I hear about using WordPress.com and other Web 2.0 type sites to build links to your websites. Does this mean you create a free blog on WordPress.com about your keyword, then use anchor text to point towards the page of your site on which you're vying for that same keyword, then wash and repeat for every other keyword?

You got it exactly right. Use as many different sources as possible - as Google likes variety.

I've also done that, but in wordpress can be quite challenging. Read wordpress terms and condition they don't allow that scheme.
