HELP PLEASE: WP Sitemap Shows Errors with Google
I'm using the XML Sitemap Generator Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress for my Wordpress sites and can see that my XML sitemap is messed up on two of them...but not all of them.
When I look at my XML Sitemap for two of my WP sites, this is what is on the page:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml
Line Number 1, Column 586:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap.xsl"?><!-- generator="wordpress/2.6.3" --><!-- sitemap-generator-url="http://www.arnebrachhold.de" sitemap-generator-version="3.1.2" --><!-- generated-on="January 9, 2009 10:43 pm" --><urlset xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd" xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
When I look at those two domains within my Google Webmaster Tools account I see this...
1 Parsing error
We were unable to read your Sitemap. It may contain an entry we are unable to recognize. Please validate your Sitemap before resubmitting.
I'm using the latest version of the XML Sitemap Generator AND WP 2.6.3.
Does anyone have any idea's how I can fix these sitemaps and why this is happening?
