Is YouTube really a good place to put affiliate links?

like in the descriptions.

I've hardly gotten any affiliate click throughs at all off of you tube.

What are some good places to put affiliate links besides the obvious, (your website, email lists, forums)

    Hey 666, You Tube is one of the hottest places to generate traffic for your affiliate link. If you are not getting clicks look at your content, and keywords.

    The best way to get clicks from YouTube is to provide an incomplete message in your video, so that viewer must click on the link to get the rest of the message. If your message is important, in my case technical step by step video tutorial, they will click through and it's highly targeted click as well. Also get a short URL and watermark it on your video.

    If you have a video getting a million views and your selling something the video is about....maybe. Take rebecca black. If you were selling rebecca black shirts from zazzle and had it linked....maybe. But in general nope.

    I found the best is facebook ads for that. Get a free coupon for facebook for 75 bucks in ads. Find them on the web. Or sign up for facebook ads and then not activate for 1 month - they will send u coupon for it.

    Find a picture of two girls in bikinis to get attention thumbnail...I have a cool one....and watch to see if it works no clicks no money out right

    pretty much it comes down to what you are promoting?

    and if their is a demand for it or something that holds value.

    The next is your title your keyword or words should be in your video title and also in your description.

    dee also gave you a good tip to use.

    you should also work on your friend count and subscribers and use them to get more views which also helps you gain more traffic to your video which could lead to more sales.

    It is not just post a link,make a couple sentences description and drop your affiliate link.

    I don't like googles handing of YouTube anymore. They are very much biased toward big corporations, and screw the little guys, especially in the gaming community. Can't even make a simple game-play video without getting a strike.
