Your Ideal Internet Marketing Software

Hi Warriors,

A short introduction. I am a computer science student currently studying down in Oxford currently working alongside a team of 2 other undergraduates and a Phd student for our CS project; Create a piece of software, for a chosen market, using object orientated programming.

We have all agreed we would like to develop a market research and internet marketing optimization tool. To conclude a rather lengthy discussion and a lot of time looking at current solutions (Market Samurai, WordStream, IBP etc) we decided we need to know more about what YOU, the users, would need.

Is there any tools you use but feel could do with improving?
Is there any tools you'd like to see?
Is there any tools in paid for programs you feel should be freely available?

Really, any suggestions welcome.

This may be already available, but I would like free a simple to use program that will tell you how well your site ranks in all the top search engines. For example, you enter your site address and keyword of choice and it tells you the rank in Bing, Google, Yahoo adn maybe even show results from web2 sources?

    Hi,

I run an Internet Marketing software company in London - DigiResults.

The owners are all CompSci graduates from the UK so we know what it's like to try to find a team project that doesn't suck!

If you and your team are interested you can come visit us in our offices and we'll work out a project/product with you. We'll supervise and offer suggestions (as noted, we're all CompSci graduates ourselves, so we know what we're talking about) and, if the product is good enough, we'll take it to market for you and give your team a share of the results.

My Skype is in the sidebar if you're interested. Please change the default add message if you contact me as I get a ton of people trying to add me every time.

    Cheers,

    Andy

Wow, I would jump on this opportunity if I were in London. Andy is an awesome guy and is always willing to talk about his process and his results.

OP, I'd take him up on that offer pronto.

There's so many processes that needs automation in internet marketing.

It involves market research, keyword research, site creation, SEO, promotion, email marketing, list building, sales funnel, etc., etc.

You better identify which "niche" in internet marketing you want to focus on.

If you think you want to compete with Market Samurai et al. That's only the research part of internet marketing.

If you focus on internet marketing optimization tool, there's SenukeX which is almost an all around tool.

Why not create a Market Samurai/SenukeX combination?

    Hey Dougie,

Sounds like an awesome project. You'll likely get a big mix of opinions here, and it is certainly worth checking out some of these software programs and actually browsing the forums (not just this one) to see what actual users and potential buyers are saying about them.

There's a ton of feedback out there waiting for you to read. I also suggest getting in touch with the power users - the actual people making good money using various software.

Bear in mind a lot of people talk about making big money online, but few actually do - those making a lot will have some very powerful insights for you and they'll use the software in very insightful ways.

I strongly recommend taking Andy up on his offer - he knows online marketing very well and is behind many awesome software projects and an all round smart guy who knows the business very well.

That's the sort of person you want to start speaking to one on one.

There needs to be a smoother video watermarker/uploader.

Hell, just contact me. The ideas I have and those that I am thinking of starting development on will make us both millionaires!

I think it'd be nice to have a combined research and tracking program that can tell you things like: what keywords you're ranking for and where, what pages these keywords are bringing visitors to and how many, with graphs that make sense, plus where people are clicking on your site etc. and be able to arrange this is a readable and accessible way so you can have it all in one place rather than having all kinds of different stat counters and visitor records which you have to wade through just to do research on your own site to find out how it's really doing...

then be able to use the same tool to research what other keywords you could be targeting and what the competitors are etc. similar to market samurai. so yeah maybe something that can combine these aspects of what your site is doing and where it could go or be better into a useful tool that focusses on usable information and what you can do with it rather than things like what browsers your visitors are using, lol. well that's what I'd like anyway!

btw Andy's awesome if you get a chance to work with him do it, I've launched software with him myself and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Evaluating a Keyword's "Commercial Intent" would be a valuable IM tool. Microsoft had a go at it but nothing came of it: see "Audience Intelligence: Microsoft adCenter Labs"

Create a software that SEnukeX can't do. Automated posting sign up and posting in forums and add some similar features of SEnukeX. That will lure everyone's attention.

It is refreshing to see a new kid on the block. To answer your question Dougie, from what you mentioned it appears that IBP is the only statistical and analysis based tool that approaches seo from a 'theoretical' perspective. In some situations a combination of Scrapebox and IBP could form a better combo compared to advanced tools like senukex.

With the results of the recent panda the most most powerful tool will be one that will undo all efforts pre panda.

    Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the time delay in getting back to this thread. I've been trying to get all of my stuff organised for moving into the new student house and it's more work than first anticipated!

First thoughts, some great feedback and I'll get back to everyone in turn so apologies again for the short reply.

If anyone is interested in following out progress then we'll be setting up a website shortly with updates, PMs always welcome.
