2 Million FB Likes Instantly? Not Possible!!

I use Facebook a lot, and a couple weeks ago I noticed a page called "Listening To Music" appearing in my news feed. I thought about how it's weird that I never actually "liked" that page. It seemed to be because of when I listed my interests on my profile. I listed one thing I like doing as "listening to music". Somehow my "like" of that interest turned into my "like" of that page!

I looked and that page had over 2 million likes. It seemed like the user literally tapped into a market of people who had listed that they like listening to music. However, I found out that it's not possible to create an page from an interest that already has a bunch of likes. What ends up happening is that you simply have a page starting from zero with the same name as the listed interest.

I'm just wondering what in the world happened with that "Listening To Music" page. Maybe it was a Facebook employee or something, but it seems to defy how Facebook operates. It's not possible to suddenly have a page that has over 2 million likes. It's kind of driving me crazy that I don't understand what happened.

Just unlike it.

You're right, that's weird. I just tried it on my own profile. I added "listening to music" to my interests and immediately my profile "liked" that page. Looks like you can make a page and if you get enough fans when someone lists that as an interest they will immediately "like" your page?

Someone with more Facebook know-how could perhaps shed some light.

Thanks, yeah I just checked that page out and there's others there that say the page just showed up in their feed because they happened to like that as an interest. It sure is weird, since that seems impossible to be able to do.

Definitely seems like a little loop hole in Facebook.

Like they were trying to make it easy to get news about a page you might like.

So, what if you put up a page titled something like "Women"? Does that mean you get like 300 million likes?

No. What happens when you set up a page by the same name is that it just happens to be page of the same name, but you have 0 likes and you're listed somewhere in the results for that interest. Otherwise, you could just access tons of people who never really opted in.

Wow from zero to over 2 million in a heart beat. Once we all learn the "secret" just think of the number of fans.

I sure hope one of the warrior can put some light to this.

If used responsibly it would be a goldmine, though I admit a bit unethical. I really don't think there's any way this would normally be possible. Perhaps it was a flaw in the system somewhere.

Oh jeez - we're not in Kansas any more, Toto. I'm not liking the way FB treats our info at all - it's bad enough fighting the supercookies they install to follow you around. I think the whole program is getting a little scary and am weighing the pro's and con's of just dropping off their map - of course, they don't let you do that either. They just put you in suspended automation. There might be a lot of $$ to be made on that thing, but I'm definitely starting to feel extremely pwned.

didn't this just happen with "Crock Pot Girls" ??

There is some kind of "glitch" that page creators who know the "trick" are taking advantage of

We can assume that FB will figure out how to stop it (eventually)

Well who knows, but it's just weird. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a FB employee. If it was, I would think that's pretty unfair for them to do that since we can't, but after all it's really in most people's best interest that people can't generally do this type of thing. There would be an unbelievably larger amount of spam on Facebook than there is now.

The thing that bugs me is that somehow it's being done. If people aren't generally able to do this, then Facebook is being dishonest if they either put it in motion or are knowingly allowing a select few to do it.

I read a trick in an e-Book few days ago that when you crossed the limit of 20K likes then you can quart-double your likes with some sneaky tricks. I can see that he went from 20K to 2M fans within 3 days and its amazing. I am trying to figure it out and if I got succeed, I will tell you guys. Wish me luck.

Oh, ok. I had a look at that chart again and now I see that they already had 20,000 fans. I had thought they started from zero and went straight to 2 million, which is entirely impossible.
