Blog post timing: How long should you wait

Does it matter how long you wait between posts?

Does it affect the sites ranking?

If you post 10 times a day, is that bad?

Should drip feed your posts over time?

Any ideas would be appreciated

The more the better as long as it is valuable, original content that readers would like to see. Do not post SPAM 10 times a day because ou will drive away subscribers, unless all you care about is autoblogging and gaining adsense revenue

You can write as many or as few as you want as long as they are relevant and worth writing. If you just write 'thanks' or 'good post' then that's a waste of a post.
As you get into reading threads more, you'll find more you can reply to.

I think s/he is talking about posting to his blog, not the forum.

I would say post as often as you have something interesting/valuable to say. It's not a bad idea to queue up a few posts for later in case you hit a bit of a dry spell with writing. If you're usually posting 2 or 3 times a week then you have nothing for a month it doesn't look good. You'll lose reader's interest. Keep a few backup posts to use during those times.

I never understood this focusing on post frequencies like "once a day" or "10x day". I have seen sites ranking EXTREMELY well which have a number of articles but haven't been updated in a long time.

Myself, for my blog..i post whenever i feel writing/posting..this can be once a week, sometimes more and sometimes maybe only once a month.

What content is that supposed to be with 10x posts PER DAY..i mean who is reading that? (assuming you have a new site and no rankings/traffic).

Timing isn't that important, content is. I usually post 2 - 3 times a day but there are days when I don't make any posts because I don't have the time or inspiration.

I have loaded on blog posts scheduled to go out every 2-3 days,, when I get creative, I post some new content.

Akismet does some type of moderation on the frequency of the post. I don't know what it is. You can probably do it every 2 hours.

Would you elaborate? As far as I know, Akismet is only to keep spam comments out of your blog. I don't think it matters how many you create yourself.

If you decide to write 10 posts a day, can you keep this up? That's 300 a week and 36,500 a year!

      I know I couldn't.

      • Wouldn't 10 posts a day be 70 posts a week? Assuming just one blog, of course.

(Admittedly math was never my best subject.)

Thanks Fluffy, never could add up.
I meant 30)ish) per month, which is 3,650 a year. Still a lot for one blog.

I'm just a happy bunny that someone read my post - even if it woz garbage.

          Hugs

Google love new content but 10 times per day ...that sound spamming more than posting.
Did you able to post 10 quality content per day ? if yes then that not a problem because no one will hate quality content.
Usually 2 to 3 posting per day would be perfect. One quality posting is better than 10 non quality posting.

You can post as many you wish but make sure that quality of content should be good, should not be copied from other sources. I would suggest to post 3-4 on daily basis, this will give you better result.

The interval I think isn't the issue. The issue is value. Do all you can to focus on value when you're writing for your blog.

Typically you want to post at least once a day or every few days. If you are doing 10 posts per day I would spread them out by at least a couple hours to keep the search engines coming to your blog over and over all day long.
