Hello everyone,
I have a small problem. I have a blog on my domain name.......com but I want to move my blog in .com/blog what specificly I need to do in order to move my blog in "blog" directory. I tried just simple move, but that cause some database errors. Maybe someone know the solution to that, that would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

      LOL! @ Karan

I would rather have that on blog.<domain_name_here>.com You need to access your domain tools to be able to do this. If you want to push with your plan, read about htaccess file.

WP-Twin is handy script that can do what you want, it will clone your entire blog so it's easy to move somewhere else.

Honestly, for a one-time move of a blog you don't need to buy any kind of script. Period.

Just learn how to do it. I have posted several times the steps - it cannot be easier than that!

    BACK UP your site:
    - the database (your posts, Pages, comments, settings are there, NOT in files!)
    - the /wp-content/ directory (your themes, plugins, uploaded media)

Everything else can be replaced from the WP site...

    The steps:
    - after backup go admin panel > Settings > General
    - change the two URLs from example.com to example.com/blog
    - save the changes and watch for a big error message
    - do NOT try to see your blog now
    - FTP: move all the WP files and folders from "public_hmtl" to the folder "blog" (create it, if it doesn't exist)
    - now you can check the blog - it should work

when you create a blog in wordress there are two parts the admin part which runs the wordpress program and the data base part which holds all the actual data, blog entries etc.
when you moved the program to a new folder it lost its connection to the data base. If you have access via cpanel on your domain hosting you can go into myphp admin and look for your wordpress database it will have 11 tables . you need to open the table Wp_options nad check that the url is pointing to the folder rather than the root director edit it and hopefully it will work/

Now, if we are going to give advice, we should try to be accurate...

Actually, there are 3 parts in WP (as in any database driven setup): the engine (aka WP core files; the database and the presentation of the data (aka theme with its templates).

Furthermore, there are 12 tables in a vanilla WP installation's database.

Next, saying one should check the wp_options table for URL is vague... because it can have hundreds of records! I know exactly what to look for but for anybody doing it first time - it's overwhelming.
You need to find the "site_url" and "home" rows and edit them to change the URL to point to the new location of the files (no slash at the end!).

Nothing personal, just for the sake of giving correct instructions...

For the sake of good order all my blogs have 11 tables as I use Fantasico to install from Cpanel its an easy way to install a new blog no messing around with FTP great for novice users
