Microsoft Word Doing my Head in

Im stuck on a really basic thing (I expect) with MS Word and would like some advice. If I scan a document into my PC the text comes up in word with shortened sentences with the text not going all the way across the page...like this:

You mayconsider agranite
tilecountertopwhich iseasier

have thesamechoice ofcolors
and thedesignyou chooseis
entirelyup to you. Granite
tilecountertopsareinstalled
the same asceramictiles. Granite
countertopcosts aredetermined
byyou andwhat type ofcountertop
you prefer, slabortile.

Basically wondered how I get the text to go right across the page in the normal fashion without going on each line and deleting the space. Please help.

Thanks

It's not Word that's the problem - it's your OCR software. The software that comes bundled with scanners and all-in-ones is usually pretty basic. You'll need to investigate packages with more features and capabilities - some of them are amazing in what they can capture, preserving formatting, styles, colors, etc. It's all in how much you want to invest in it. Some of them also have free trials.

I have not a lot of experience with word .... however if I am having trouble with formatting text when transferring it - I drop it into notepad first - this strips the formatting - and then copy/paste into the application I am using.
    Worth a try

Please tell me you aren't going to use that article! I'm growing to hate articles that are full of what I call "filler text". It adds nothing to the article and just makes it boring and less likely to engage the readers attention.

If you're wondering what I mean - "Granite countertop costs are determined
by you andwhat type ofcountertop you prefer," is pointless and unnecessary.

To answer your question - probably the easiest way to tidy it up would be to first copy and paste it into notepad and then tidy it up from there. Or just make a large cup of coffee and settle down to a boring 10 minutes of deleting carriage return characters.

You could probably remove all the underlining at once by just doing ctrl+A to select all and hitting underline a couple of times.

As Steve said, the problem is the OCR software, which has never been very good in my experience.
