5-Step Blueprint For 1,000 Opt-Ins A Day

This takes work, planning, and organization--but it does work wickedly well if you're willing to follow through with the details.

STEP 1: Go to eZineArticles and browse through the expert authors. There are about 130 expert authors with over 1,000 articles to their name. There are about the same number of authors with over 500 articles to their name. These people have huge lists. (1) Click on their extended author bio for a link to their main site. (2) Alternatively, click on the link in their author resource box at the end of one of their articles. Check to see if they give an email address on their site. If not, they will most likely have an opt-in pop-up on their site for a free newsletter or mini-course. Sign up for it. When they begin sending you mailings, save their email address.

STEP 2: Go to Clickbank or a similar platform and visit every one of the top 50 sites in your niche. For example: Marketing & Ads, Health & Fitness, etc. Opt in for their newsletters and collect their email addresses as well.

STEP 3: Create a killer, and I mean an absolute no-holds-barred, eye-popping killer bonus PDF file of about 30-40 pages. Get a killer cover graphic--a box cover for your bonus and slap it on page one with the title to make it look snappy.

INTERLUDE: THE THEORY
Most of these "gurus" mail to their lists 1-4 times a week. The vast, vast majority of these mails are junk and simply contain a plea to... Check this out... with link to a product they promote as an affiliate. People get tired of getting nothing but these junk emails, so they opt-out of the lists, or--simply don't open the emails any longer. The gurus know this.

What you want to do is approach these individuals with an offer to let them have your ebook and offer it as a free gift to their readers. This gives their readers a reason to open their emails and will keep them interested in staying on the list.

STEP 4: If you've got guts and don't mind having 90% of the gurus turn you down or ignore you--try this: Send them an email explaining why it would be good for them to offer your bonus to their readers through a link in their email. Give them a link to use to your bonus PDF file. However, have that link go, not to the download, but to an opt-in page where they must give up their name and email to get your file. If they opt-in, have your auto-responder send them an immediate return email with a link to your file. Most gurus will not do this because you are "stealing" too many of their names using this method. This is not really true, because without giving free gifts to their readers from time to time, subscribers will opt-out of their list because all they get is junk. But don't get discouraged! I have had a number of the biggest Clickbank vendors agree to do this for me. Your list can grow exponentially in very short order.

STEP 5: If you don't have the guts to ask them to include a link in their newsletter to your opt-in page, then try this: Simply ask the guru to upload the file to their site and and include a link to it in their mailing. However, at the end of your PDF file have a link to your site or blog and offer the reader more bonuses at your site. I would again send them to an opt-in page first where they must give up their name an email to get to your site or blog. You still get names, but you won't get as many.

This works! I've had both top Clickbank vendors accept my offers like this as well as top eZineArticle authors who also have huge lists. The only thing is that you must have a killer bonus PDF file to offer.

EXTRA FOR EXPERTS
Milk this technique for even more juice. At the end of your PDF file, tell readers that they can get permission to distribute the ebook to their subscribers or sell it and keep all of the profit--but they must first register to get this right. Tell them you will add them to your free newsletter list as well. This gives you permission to start mailing to them. Have a link to an opt-in page where you collect their names and email addresses. Once they confirm to the registration, send an auto-response stating they now have the right to distribute or sell the product and keep all of the profits. Suggest they use it as an opt-in bonus as well.

This creates a viral effect and within a few weeks you can get a huge influx of opt-ins. Again, the better your bonus, the more names you are going to collect. Do this over and over and over again! From time to time create new bonuses and send them to the people who have registered to be distributors for your previous bonuses.

I'm as serious as a heart attack about this. Organize, stay motivated, keep with it and you'll grow a list to be proud of.

If I may add one thought....
You could personalize the report/opt-in for each marketer that agrees to tell their subscribers. Say something like, "A Special Gift For MARKETERS NAME's Friends and Subscribers".

That might help the subscribers realize that it really is a special gift.

I know for a fact that this works.

I would say you would be much better off to approach them once with a no strings attached free report... I mean, no opt-ins required. Send them the PDF and ask them if they would like to send it out to their list. It is even better if you customize it specific for their list.

After you get your foot in the door, then you can approach them with another free report and try to get the opt-in on that one.

Just getting your name in their email will give you instant credibility and put you on their level their list's eyes.

It really depends on the market. It might not work in the IM market, but in certain niches I've heard of people doing similar things and having it work.

The other thing you can do is promote one of the author's products as an affiliate first and rack up some sales, before approaching the author with this idea. I've done that quite a few times in the "work at home" market.

Capone, I've got a BS detector too and it goes off 20 times a day... but I'm taking pills for it . Just one thing, a lot of gurus give away 2-5 page reports on their opt-in pop-ups. But if you come up with a significant 30-40 page report, it is unlikely a big guy would take the time to do that for a free bonus. Most of them are working on new products and launches. If they were going to create a 40 page bonus, they would probably bulk it up a bit and turn it into a full-fledged product. (Rob Benwell's Blogging To The Bank 1 & 2 books were only about 40 pages and he sold over 20,000 of them at $37.)

Very good sound advice. You have to put yourself out there if you want to have some success. One thing a lot of people fail to realize is that "guru's" are people to and if you offer something that is great for their list, then they might just take you up on it. Even if they say no, you have taken a step in the right direction. Offer the best you can, and you will get the best results possible...

Depends on the content.

I put together a little report for my subscribers as a Christmas/New Year's gift this year, and you'd be surprised the people who want to send it to their lists.

With the right tweaks, I can see this working.

your product/bonus from the list owner they would then have to opt-in to your
list through the PDF to claim more freebie bonuses.

The problem is this sounds more like a great way to build a huge list of freebie
seekers and filter out buyer because there following the trail of freebies. This
would lead me to believe the list you build however large would be of poor quality.

Please explain further about the quality of the lists you do build using this method
and how you convert them to buyer? Personally I would always go for quality.
Would Also be interesting to know if any lists you've built using more traditional
methods out perform those using this method or vice versa due to the list owners
[guru's] reputation?

There are no bad lists, just bad list owners.

If you send your list helpful information, regardless of
where you got the names and email addresses, you'll
convert a percentage of them into buyers.

Even a list built from a free giveaway can be converted
into buyers once they know, like and trust you. It's up
to you to give them reasons to do that.

Now, a list built on the recommendation of somebody
they already know, like and trust will give them the
impression they can trust you too, then it's on you
to keep that trust alive.

I know from personal experience that if you can build a
relationship with a "guru" and convince them to give
away your product, you'll garner a lot better list than by
most "traditional" methods as you put it.

I have two really good bodybuilding ebooks that I have put together expressly to do this.

One big problem is just finding the contact details for the big guns - I would prefer to phone them directly.

Have you used who.is lookups to get some email addesses for them? some times you can geta physical address, you can really impress them with a physical mailing.

I know this works and I think that most people just don't try it so they 'think' it doesn't.

I'd also like to add a suggestion to this which I usually include - Motivate them to add this product recommendation to their autoresponder sequence. This means that you can usually get a lot longer list building result from it as new people join their list, they're automatically going to get to a recommendation to download your product - might sound simple but it adds another dimension to your results.

If you're effectively monetising the back end on this method you can even pay people to tell others about your 'free' product.

Remember, if someone is at the top of Clickbank they've got the money to create (translated: outsource) all the great content they want. Whether they choose to is a different story.

With the ability to have great content created at will, most will not be willing to give away their list for a pdf report.

But remember the old saying: Money talks, B.S. walks.

If you can add a revenue component you've put this into a different league.

A couple examples:

- Pre-load the pdf with an affiliate link to your product (so they earn a commission on it)
- If you don't have your own product, allow them to re-brand the pdf with THEIR OWN affiliate links to other products you are recommending

Their are numerous other ways to add a revenue component. Get creative and see what you come up with.

what you can do is send them to a direct download,for the free pdf loaded with the list owners affiliate links..there is technology now that allows you to input a popup within the pdf itself,so you can build the list from within the pdf itself.

Paul M asked about the quality of the list this builds. I understand. The best lists are those of actual buyers, probably followed by PPC opt-ins.

I was watching a Frank Kern video the other day and he took issue with the saying, "The money is in the list." He disagreed. His comment was, "The money is in building a quality RELATIONSHIP with your list."

I think it's the relationship building aspect that can turn a mediocre list into a high octane list.

This is old school marketing at it's finest. Basic brandable ebook strategy. People like Liz Tomey, Harvey Seagal, Louis Alport, etc have been doing this under the radar for years. The only twist I see is finding the list owners on EZA.

It's all a numbers game. If you contact enough people with a win/win offer, you'll get some to do it.

This works so much better if you already have a name for yourself or if your content is amazing with some proof to back it up. Plus, as Ken mentioned, provide a way for them to make money from your report.

Forums like the WF help you to get your name out there. That way when you contact people in this niche, they may have already heard of you and you're not approaching them as a complete stanger. So watch what you say here because everyone is watching. LOL

Good idea reminds me of a product I just purchased. In my opinion this is how the big dogs do it get together through joint ventures and provide quality content with option to purchase. I suggested to really kick your list building into high gear was to write a good quality report and contact your competitors in your market and see if they want to give it away to their list as a free gift and that you would do the same for them if they had anything of value they wanted to share...

remember my young friendthe only thing that will make you money is implementing the things that you learn. So spend 90% of your time doing and 10% learning. for example 10% of your time learning from this forum. the greatest knowledge that you will obtain is that which you get from doing.
