Do you integrate your business page with your personal Facebook account?

Just what the title says.

I have a personal FB account that I just use for friends and family, but sometimes acquaintances can surprise you and help out when you least expect it (I am into referral marketing, so!). I currently have my FB business page set up separately.

Should I close it down (has not much on it yet), and create a fan page on my personal account?

  • The business page and your personal account differs greatly, the page should be for your business and use it to inform your fans about your business news. But you can't use it as your personal account, for example to have some conversation. I have 2 FB personal accounts one is for business purposes and second one just for friends. I think a business personal account should be more solid and it also can be like your online CV

Get a FB Fanpage for your business..

And possibly, keep your real page only to close friends and family.. Try to strictly add nobody that you have not met personally.

I learnt this the hard way over the years which made me more careful with my privacy.

    Hey Jeff,

It is definitely essential to have a distinction between your personal facebook account and your business account. But creating 2 different accounts is IMO not the way to go.

It is also against facebook rules to have two accounts on facebook.

You can always use your personal account for your personal use and create a facebook page for your business use.

If you are concerned about not revealing your true identity, there are options in the page settings where your details wont be made public.

You can create as many pages you like, so you would never need an other account apart from your main account.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

Great feedback guys. I'll definitely keep em separate, makes sense anyway, that's how it's already setup.

One less thing on my to-do list, yay!
