How did a buyer get my ebook for $1?

I sell an ebook from a site for around $37. No affiliates or anything. Tonight I get a sale receipt from Paypal for just over $1 for the ebook. HOW in the world did this happen? Anyone have any idea?

    This is a popular hack on Paypal .But here's my advice-make your download link protected by going with the "encrypted button" option on Paypal.Also,if you can,get DLGuard.Though pricey,it will pay you in the long run.Truth be told,the person could have paid you 1 cent.The hack simply involves changing the price to whatever the "hacker" wants.
    Clickbank also has hacks though so if you sell through it,be careful.Most people are however honest and will not resort to using such methods to get your product free so it is not something you should put all your focus on.

    This is really odd.
    I believe it's referred to as "PayPal hacking" and it sounds like you need to beef-up your security.

    yup..beef up your security...the funny thing was i removed the auto paypal buy button created scarcity and only let people who enquired via email buy from me now..conversions went through the roof,but i still get "ebook download form" emails to my email account meaning someone tried hacking and found nothing there..lololol..

    This has happened only once before. I use an ecommerce script that gives them the option of Paypal or Authorize.net..but yes, it goes to a basic download page that is not protected (I know, not good).

    Another vote for e-junkie.com. They charge only $5 a month and we can add unlimited number of products. The good thing is that for each product they provide up to 500MB of file upload. So you can just upload your e-book etc. for the product and it will be securely delivered upon paypal payment by the buyer.
