Anyone Experiencing A "Clumping" Pattern In Clickbank Sales (As A Merchant)

Hello Warriors:

I originally posted this buried in a response in another thread that has since gone in to the "page 3+ abyss". Since it wasn't directly related to the topic of that thread anyway, I though it deserved its own...

I've noticed that, instead of the same 'evened-out' sales patterns my websites have had for the past 5 years, I can now (over the past 3 months, approximately) see a definite "clumping" pattern whereby I get no sales notifications for long periods and then suddenly get a whole big bunch of them all in one go.

At first, I thought it might be just a delay in sending out e-mail notifications (which to complicate things further, has often occured at varying times anyway) but, when I check (what is presumably) the time these sales were processed (when I log into my CB account), I very often find that they have occured within 1 or 2 minutes of each other, usually over a 1 or 2 hour period, and very often have happened 12-24 hours ago.

That's not to say ALL sales have been happening like this but it IS a noticeable pattern.

It's weird, to say the least.

Have any other merchants experienced anything like this?

Tommy.

Whoa! I wasn't even conscience of it but I am certainly experiencing a clumping effect. Some days no sales, other days 4 or 5 almost back to back within an hour or two...

Interesting - especially as affiliates are reporting quite a few problems recently, too.

Over time - are the number of sales remaining the same even though the pattern has changed?

The numbers for the last 3 months are quite a bit below that of the same period last year but, because sales vary month by month anyway, with some way-down and some way-up, it's hard to say it's definitely the result of some technical abberation. Overall, though, revenues for 2008 have significantly exceeded 2007 but I think it's too early to know if things have been skewed by much.

    YES, and YES and YES.

If there's no sales then its usually 5-10 days in a row, MANY people complaining about "issues" on various forums...and then all of a sudden "something is fixed" and sales come in again.

I am VERY, VERY tired of this.

I must be the strange one. I'm a vendor with three Clickbank accounts. I've seen very consistent sales.

In addition, I have one account that is exclusively for three affiliates - meaning that every customer who gets to that sales page has come through a hoplink. Only about 5% of those sales are NOT credited to an affiliate - probably because of cookie blocking.

I'm not a vendor on CB, just an affiliate but I have noticed very strange things lately. Like most everyone else, my sales from October on went in the toilet. What really struck me as strange was that a product that normally converted very well for me wasn't converting at all. In fact, in 700 hops I had ZERO sales!

Suddenly in the last 10 days, I am selling this product again like hotcakes! Very strange indeed. This isn't the only product I am promoting from CB, but it seems that sales went from nearly nothing in the last two months or so of 2008 to doing well again lately. Maybe their problems are getting corrected?

    I hope so!

I hope they get this corrected i have been noticing this again. I have a feeling its clumping due to the fact that i have not one sale and then all of a sudden i get a bunch all at the same time.

    Hi
I sell just 1 product on ClickBank (am working on no2 at the moment) and I have also noticed this 'clumping'.
Whether the sales are affiliate sales or not they never come through in 1's, always 2 or 3 at a time, very odd!

      Hi,

That happened to me too, in the same kinda way...

But the difference was I changed the header, but right when
I changed it, I got 3 sales fairly quickly and nothing since...

That is the only product I have on Clickbank, but it's odd
because even my strictly Paypal one, no difference!

      I dunno!
