I have known a few people who say they have earned money are still earning money just by blogging. They advertise, sell and sometimes write articles for other people. Guess it would be a simple and easy way to earn.

You have to be dedicated to your blog and give great quality content.

You can make money by Adsense, CPA, Clickbank, Lead Generation, Selling ad space...

The list goes on.

Now, advertising your blog is another story in itself. Guest blogging, article marketing etc...

So what happens when blogger or wordpress or whoever decides that they don't like your blog and deletes it? You're up a creek without a paddle.

Blogs like ProBlogger get a TON of traffic. That by itself makes them very valuable for getting advertisers who want to advertise on their blog, and for getting Adsense and contextual link revenue, as well as any affiliate offers or products of their own that they promote.

You wouldn't really want to build up traffic only to have it disappear in a heartbeat, would you?

ProBlogger might be viewed as more of an authoritative blog as well since you have to pay for it. (I know not much about it, I skimmed through the book the guy wrote once)

I hear blogger might delete your blog for no good reason., but I've also heard Tumblr won't do that to you.

Since you should always keep in mind you might want to sell your blog someday, how do you sell a "free" blog?

Can you even export your posts from a wordpress.com blog? Honest question, I've never tried.

On blogger you can sell the "free" blog by inviting the buyer as an Administrator then he can remove you after your confirmation, its in the Blogger Help site. I'm not sure with Wordpress about the account transfer. Both blog sites support exporting of posts.

I would suggest that you go with Blogger if that's the case, but you should
think about getting a real blog. When you do, go with Wordpress. It's simply
the best out there.

Yes, both blogger and wordpress are good free blogging options available for everone. Especially wordpress, which is very vast and with plenty of options and plugins. First, start submitting some interesting post on your blog and if you begin to get traffic then only apply for google adsense or others.

You'd be better off getting hosting from someone like HostGator and buying a domain. You're looking at $8 max for the domain, and $8 or so per month for the hosting. Why would you want to build traffic to someone else's platform? At Blogger, for instance, you don't own that site. Blogging takes a lot of time and effort. Don't build your house on sand.

Hi. There are lots of things you can do to make money with a niche blog. You can make money with affiliate marketing (selling other people's products in exchange for a commission on every sale earned). You can sell ad space on your blog (make money by charging advertisers a weekly or monthly rate for ad space to get more traffic). You can build an e-mail list. You can sell your own product. You can make money with adsense...lots of possibilities.

Create or have someone create great blog posts for you with proper SEO. This will help you to rank well on Google for your keyword phrases. Also, choose keyword phrases that are not super competitive, but still get a lot of traffic every month.

Then, put either Google AdSense, affiliate products, or something else on the blog to monetize it. I know this sounds simple, but it really is not hard. The hardest part is getting started and actually posting to your blog every single day. If you hate writing or are not good at it you can always hire someone to write for you daily. Just make sure the posts are very well written and use proper SEO.

Like others have said and it's worth mentioning again that if you want to start blogging then you need a) domain and b) hosting.

Don't start your business off on the wrong foot and put your faith in someone or systems that you have ZERO control over.
