Question for domain / blog flippers

I have read several posts, articles, and reports that are showing folks how to flip domains and blogs which I get but I have seen some people selling Blogger blogs (blahblah.blogspot.com) and wondered about the legalities with this.

I thought Google owned those blogs. Unless you have registered and payed for the domain name yourself how can you sell a Blogger blog when Google is loaning you a sub on their site.

If you have what Google calls a custom domain (or something like that) that I purchase through them and they decide to cancel my account I still own the domain and can transfer it to another host but it is still mine.
But if you are on the free account you don't own anything that you can take away with you if they close your account.

Have there been any repercussions yet from people selling Google property?

I think you should not worry about it. You don't own your gmail account also. I sold blogspot site last year without any problems. All you have to do is give access to your blogger account to the buyer. You don't sell googles property. You sell access to your own site on blogspot domain which google offer for free.

    Hey thanks dmarze,

Do you let the buyer know that they are just paying for your service for designing a free blog and that Google can drop their site in the morning?

If so, how do you sell that? As a designer? Developer? Selling them the content?

Just curious. I know that when I register a domain, research and write the content, create backlinks, and generate traffic that I now have given it value but I did not know the pitch for selling a free blogspot since you can't say that you are selling a domain.
