Some People Need To Get A Reality Check

I just received an email about one of my sales pages saying that it is illegal
for me to sell digital information in the form of PDFs and videos.

I don't know WHERE people come up with this stuff.

      That is always possible.

Also, someone who is trying to grab emails may do that tactic..so you reply defending your work. And, bam, you get tons of junk mail from them.

It sounds like a spammer or someone that is jealous. i get the weirdest emails about my bank account back in the Netherlands. One of those emails was that I had to fill out a form because they can close my bank account. I know that my bank account doen't work like that through email. I think that some spammer try out the weirdest things just to draw attention and scare people a bit so that they would have read their emails.

Okay, after communicating with this person, something I probably should have
not done and will probably regret, I think I am now understanding what he has
a problem with. It's my refund policy. He says it makes no sense. You can't
return digital information. While I can argue that, I see his point. But to say
that it's illegal for me to say that on my sales page, that's pretty much a
stretch. However, I'm not a lawyer. But I do know this. If I download a PDF or
video from somebody and they want me to return it, I certainly CAN do it.

But in all my years of doing this, I have NEVER run into somebody who had
a problem with my refund policy, which was written purposely that way for
people who are not used to buying digital information (I never assume) and
might want to know that they CAN return it for a FULL refund.

Most people get it, even the ones who regularly buy digital information.

But for this guy to make a federal case out of my wording and then tell me
it's illegal...well, that's a little over the top in my opinion.

At least now I understand exactly what it was he had a problem with.

However, I'm NOT changing the wording of my refund policy. Not because of
one idiot who is so anal that he has to dissect every word and pull out his
              law book over it.

Oh wait...if he was a lawyer, he'd know that there was nothing illegal about
the wording of my refund policy.

But hey, I'll let you folks decide. If you think I screwed up on my sales page,
I'll take my lumps right here in a public forum.

              No hard feelings either.

              Fire away.

Too funny. Maybe it was a spammer with a new approach to checking email addresses. Doubt it though. Just sounds like a totally clueless twit.

Based on a lot of the advice in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...al-action.html, you should immediately take down your sales page and consult a lawyer. Personally, I'd just chuckle as I try and imagine the overwhelming mental effort required for such an idiot to tie his shoes in the morning.

STOP! For Heaven's sake STOP - NOW!

Maybe there's some truth in what he's saying and this is sage advice.

I'm not taking any chances. I'm withdrawing all my digital products, and changing my name and identity, just in case.

I suggest you do the same too before they bang on your door.

      Alan

      PS.
Thanks John. Haven't heard the word numpty for a while. Might have to explain that to the Americans though.

Including one out of four of the 'experts'. Steve, people who send ridiculous emails like that are either mental or jealous.

With most folks like this their reality check just bounces anyway; Reason? insufficient Clue.

LOL! I like this one. Similar to sending an invoice to doctors who keep you waiting beyond your appointment time.
