How To Stop A Bitter Contractor Defaming Your Good Name

Well, I guess it was bound to happen at some time. I've hired countless contractors/outsourcers with great joy (and still do) but there's always a bad apple in the bunch and I found one. I gave the guy heaps of opportunities to do the job he agreed to do but after 3 months I called in odesk help to report him. Odesk don't generally get involved with refunds but the (very lengthy) communication trail where I constantly gave him more time and more chances was so clear, they actually threatened to evict him from odesk unless he refunded my deposit. It actualy wasn't about the money, it was his arrogance and unwillingness to work at all for the money I paid that got to me.

Anyway long story short, the guy is now bitter and twisted and is posting scam alerts against my name on all sorts of scam and complaint forums stuffed with lies about me. This does not help my reputation, especially when people search for me and see all this. Aside from adding comments of my own and complaining to the site owner, is there anything else anyone can suggest? The guy is in India and probably outside any real arm of the law.
