How To Build Relationship With My List And Adswaps

My subscriber list currently stands at 205 and still growing.

Only question is:

How To Build Relationship With My List?

After 3 years of marketing online, I have to come to reaiize that building a list is one thing while building relationships is another.

Is 200 enough for adwraps and do I need to keep growing my list to about 500-1000 to qualify?

There are many ways of building relationship with a list. Your job will be made a lot easier if you're already known by those in your list as somenone who knows what he's talking about. Otherwise it can be done within your 1st to 4th emails.

I'll give you a quick sequence:

    - when somenone subscribes to your list send them your first email thanking them for their action.
    - Then on the folowing day follow up with them. i.e. I hope you're enjoying reding/listening to xxx and it is helping you achieve xxx.
    - Two days after, introduce yourself. Tell them how you started and struggles you faced and how you overcame them. Try to translate that to the benefit of your reader.
    - Three days after, send them an email/article about a product you intend to recommend. No affiliate links! Just content related but geared towards making it an issue that merits their attention. Give it one or two days then send them another email/article related to your previous email but at this time with a single affiliate link at the bottom of the email without call for action. give it two or three more days, send another email related to the subject but this time you'll have about two clickable affiliate links there. This email is about selling!

Rinse and repeat the process again and again...

    This is the soft approach.

Once you follow these steps you'll have probably gained the trust of your list and you can then start to marketing to them more openly. But only do so based on the click through ratio. Offer valuable information on a regular basis.

It's basic but I hope it helps.

If you want to build a strong relationship with your list
then focus on finding out what they want - and give
    and sell it to them.

I'm not a big fan of overusing adswaps even though it's
a way to increase the size of your list.

    Why?

As a list owner, you want your subscribers to mainly pay
attention to you and pay money for your offers.

If you're constantly doing adswaps, you're effectively sending
them off to pay attention and money elsewhere and their
focus gets diverted increasingly away from you.

Focus on the QUALITY of the relationship between YOU
and your SUBSCRIBER and your OFFERS.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

Focus on your market and their problems is core. Let them inside your life a little too, get personal with them, be different to everyone else -- and make sure to always keep coming back to them!

As the saying goes "No one cares about your lawn mower, they only care about THEIR grass!"

The best way to form a relationship with your list is to give them quality content.

I don't know what you're offering to get people onto your list, but the higher quality the item the better the relationship will be. For example if after downloading your report I took action and made a nice profit on the information I would open up all the emails you sent.

Now if the report was just full of generic content and affiliate links I may unsubscribe immediately or not be so keen on opening up your next email.

What you need to do is turn the people on your list into raving fans, and I know from bitter experience that if you start sending out copy & paste emails for adswaps that the relationship with your list will soon disappear.

Sure adswaps grew my list by several thousand but the income dropped off to almost zero as I wasn't adding any value to my subscribers. The best advice is to focus on quality rather than numbers, it will be best for you in the long term.
