Newbie to Internet Marketing - Help Needed

20 replies
Hello Guys - I need some help here.

Recently i have been doing a lot of reading about internet marketing and how to make money online - primarily with Amazon affiliate. I have also been reading on ClickBank and Google adsense.

I have decided to make my website (well i already made it and i want to fill it with content).

Filling my site with content will be easy since i am a professional writer.

What i need help with is this:

I have no idea how to set up my amazon affiliate on my website. How do i add the amazon products?
Do i need to add multiple products or do i just need to get them to go to amazon and buy stuff?
Does it need to be product by product?
And what about clickbank? How do i make money from that?

I know there are perhaps great WSO about these but i am broke . I know how to do the keyword research and i can optimize my site with ease. I just cannot for the life of me figure out the links and adding stuff. I am not technical at all.

I need some step by step instructions on this . Hell i can't even add video to my site (yeah i am that bad). Like i said all i know how to do is write and write well.

Can anyone help me with this? Without all the expensive stuff.

      That link is to a paid service. Though i am not averse to paying I cannot afford to pay right now. I just bought War Room membership lol. I believe in finding something that works first and gets me some cash before i start to spend a lot.

    Hi Lady Zelda,

    Okay first off, I think that you should do one thing at a time. If you want to be a an Amazon affiliate do that. You have to sign up at Amazon on the bottom of the site, there is a link to sign up.

    It sometimes takes a do or two to get approved depending on the website you have. After you get your affiliate go through the training in your back office. This will show you how to set up things on your site.

    It really is not that hard. Now depending on your site, would depend on whether on not you would do product review or something else to offer the products. If you have a special niche, then I would do product reviews of those particular products. Especially if you write well and have good command and knowledge of the products you are promoting.

    As far as the Clickbank. Wait a few months before you try to implement this. Not because it is bad or anything. I just believe that you should focus one skill at a time till you are doing it well, then you should add to your skills.

    I would be willing to help you make a goal and plan if you need help, just leave me a message on my front visitor page and you can leave me an email address. I would be happy to help. =D

      Heya Gen

      I already have an Amazon affiliate account, I set it up some months when i went to a seminar. I just have no idea how to use it lolz.

      ClickBank well I just always hear people talking about it so i thought i would try it out. Waiting wouldn't be an issue for me i suppose.

      I am really trying to find something that will work for me. I have been writing and that has only done so much for me. I really wish to try this one out and teach myself something new.

      Thanks for the offer, I will take you up on it.

    I would personally suggest you to build one amazon website around one main keyword and one product. It should contain only one article thats a detailed review of the product and is homepage of the site.

    See, actually amazon sites can have a very high convertion rate if the review is good,

    So doing one website with one keyword and one product is the best option according to me

    For any further help, (especially technical help) you can PM me

      Definitely some great advice here. I always tell people who are just starting out to begin creating niche websites that they can make recurring income from.

      Also check out Youtube. I'm sure there are a ton of videos on how to add Amazon products to websites.

      Let us know your progress...

    Ya start with one single product review site. Focus on it. Once it works, then you can go multiple products in the same niche. If you are serious about amazon affiliate marketing, you can check out Matt Carter's course 'Rapid Profit Formula' which shows you how to promote physical products from Amazon and Commmission Junction.

    Filling my site with content will be easy since i am a professional writer.

    You have the most valuable skill needed in this industry - writing.
    With this ability, you can:
    • Write articles and publish on your site and Artilce Directories, such as Ezine Articles;
    • Write and create your own publications, even if it's rewrites of somebody's PLR;
    • Communicate skillfully to your prospective buyers via email marketing;
    • You could
    • even advertise your writing skills on Fiverr to earn a few quick bucks.

    What i need help with is this:

    I have no idea how to set up my amazon affiliate on my website. How do i add the amazon products?
    Do i need to add multiple products or do i just need to get them to go to amazon and buy stuff?
    Does it need to be product by product?
    Amazon.
    I don't have massive skills in Amazon marketing myself, although there are people making a steady income from it.

    However, the simplest way to get involved with Amazon is by becoming an Amazon ASSOCIATE (affiliate). You can then add Amazon ads to your site. If visitors see something of interest, they click on you ad, and are taken to Amazon. This is a basic way to start monetising your site.
    If you search for Amazon ASSOCIATES, it will take you through all you need to do.

    AdSense.
    Like Amazon advertising, if you visit and register with Google AdSense, it's a fairly straight forward procedure, as long as you concentrate, and don't get distracted. Keep a note of any references you get from Google.

    If you're using a Wordpress site, it's a simple process to add both Amazon and Google AdSense ads to your site, using text widgets.

    Now you have two forms of advertising and monetising your site - and neither of them has cost you any money!

    And what about clickbank? How do i make money from that?
    This one's easier.

    Clickbank.
    First, you need to visit Clickbank and register a user name (your first Nickname). Select carefully, as you will probably need more nicknames (accounts) as you grow. Oh yes, it's free to become a Clickbank Affiliate, and very easy too.

    Now you're registered with Clickbank, you can:
    • Place CB ads on your site, just like Amazon and AdSense;
    • Write product reviews for CB products, linking to a CB sales page;
    • Use your CB nickname to bcome an affiliate for many product vendors.

    And I know there are perhaps great WSO about these but i am broke .
    I know that feeling only too well. Take a lookie at my sig file. It may help, and won't cost you. Forget the paid WSOs. You can get most of this advice free, from blogs or Warrior Forum threads.

    And I know how to do the keyword research and i can optimize my site with ease. I just cannot for the life of me figure out the links and adding stuff. I am not technical at all.
    I'm no techie either, which is why I use Wordpress for most of my sites. It takes away the web design stuff completely, and with all the plug-ins available, you can make very credible and functional sites, using the automatic codings built into the platform.

    I need some step by step instructions on this . Hell i can't even add video to my site (yeah i am that bad). Like i said all i know how to do is write and write well.
    Neither can I, but it's a lot easier with Wordpress.

    Look above and below. Hope it helps.

        So i was able to add one Amazon Product to my website but sadly all i could do right was add the text link. The image+text link never comes on - even when i click update.

        I will see it one time and then its gone again.

        And yes i did YouTube how to add the product.

          Hi M'Lady, me again.

          I'm not sure how you're adding the Amazon Products code to you WP site. Once you have the code that Amazon supplies, you should be able copy it to a 'text widget' in the sidebar.

          In the Text Widget, it should look something like this:

          <script type="text/javascript"><!--
          amazon_ad_tag = "XXXXXXXXXXXX"; amazon_ad_width = "160"; amazon_ad_height = "600"; amazon_ad_link_target = "new"; amazon_ad_price = "retail"; amazon_ad_border = "hide"; amazon_ad_categories = "abcdflegmn";//--></script>
          <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/s/ads.js"></script>

          The XXXXXXX is my own code, hidden.

          If this isn't what you're getting, you may have to revisit Amazon and go through each stage carefully.

          I hope this helps Lady Z

          I think I love you too

          PS. If this works, why not visit my site and:

          Leave a Facebook LIKE;
          Retweet it;
          Leave a comment; or
          Just kiss the monitor

          I'm easy to please (well, I'm just plain easy)

          Hugs

    Hi,

    There are many talented people in Warrior Forum who can help you up with building money-making websites.

    As a newbie, the most important thing is to get a full picture of what Internet marketing is about and focus on one business model at a time. Next, you will need to build a profitable website to get you started on making money online.

    Success comes from taking positive actions, repeated day in and day out.

    Warmest Regards,
    Anson

    Hi LadyZelda,

    I'm also just starting out (well, re-starting actually, as I 'had a go' about 3 years ago and overwhelmed myself with too many guides/approaches and tried to do much at once...also i didn't get anyone to help me.) and I wonder if anyone has suggested that you might find it easier to just create your own product (eBook)?

    Since you have skills as a writer, I would think you could make a lot more money a lot sooner selling your own eBook (by you selling it i mean with the help of affiliates through ClickBank and JV, which you could find here).

    What do you think?

    You will get your affiliate links in your Amazon affiliate account.

    On your website you can insert the links into your content. You can either highlight words and link the words. (If you can insert a link into a Warrior Forum post, you can insert the Amazon link on your website.)

    Or, take the Amazon link and copy and paste it into your website. You will have options to show the picture of the product and product information. Anything else you write yourself on your page.

    Lady Zelda,

    I know exactly what you are going through. I found some free videos and got a WYSIWYG editor for free and then just had to figure out from the training how to do all that stuff. I am definitely still a newbie but I have figured a little of this out.

    I got so excited when I figured out how to put links to products, pictures and videos on my site. :-)

    I know to someone with knowledge they would have thought it was no big deal. But to me, it was quite an accomplishment.

    Keep plugging along and take a lot of the advice here about focusing on one thing to start. :-)
