You went about this the wrong way.

Here's a little advice: Please refrain from spending more than $100 per month on online ventures without knowing what you're doing. I am guessing you did it because you were following guidance from ebooks. The techniques may sound really convincing on paper but they don't always work out as well when they are implanted. That's the difference between ideas and proven methods.

I suggest a do-over. It sucks, but the best thing you can do now is put that $25000 lost behind you (God, I hope that money wasn't a loan!). Start small to get some experience. For instance, if you main goal is to create your own product, a good idea would be to become an affiliate first and do some free promotions. This way you'll learn about the business from ground up, have a better understanding of what work and what doesn't. Save whatever money you earn. Then, when you're ready to go to paid advertising, use those cash. This way, you won't lose anything out of your pocket.

      Hey!

      I LOVE Turks!

You know a guy named "Coffee" ? He is on the beach usually and helping sell parasailing - but something else I can't mention here too.

Anyway, you have a very UNIQUE opportunity there. Especially being on that location.

A lot of tourists look up that island, and I can't believe you could not start with a site dedicated to the wonders going on there.

I went on an excursion and we had some fantastic conch, and we ate it that day.

Try starting with a local idea. Then you can expand and easily have a great adwords type site - or even sell ad space for the local business there.

    Newbies often experience this.

There are like millions of methods to make money online. Whether they make money online is a different thing all together.

You are right in saying you don't know until you have tested, or tried even.

Other than buying stuff, what have you tried in those 6 years? What niche were you in? What product or service were you selling? Was it as an affiliate, or were you selling your own stuff? What marketing methods did you use?

We can help you a lot more if you can give us more details.

spending online must be monitored and adjusted quickly, otherwise these problems become common. Rather than spending do all the things yourself until you make a single dime. that will give experience.

Dash, great point on not spending more than $100 per month on online ventures without knowing what you're doing. It's not real sexy to spend hours analyzing your $20 a week experiment, but then again, if you follow those rules, you'll never write a post like the OP.

Ok, I don't know how you might know him, lol, but here is an example.

Coffee sells a product. Or he did at least when I was there which was over 10 years ago.

He "built a relationship" and instilled some trust, and from that he made a sale.

      Online is really no different.

You use a site to build a relationship (or a list) and use the site to build trust, and if you are selling something that your audience is looking to purchase and you are selling it where it is wanted, you will make sales.

Online you find people by doing things that help them to find you. Online this is done by using the right keywords that people search for.

Find a product in demand. Figure out where your audience is, and sell it to them. Add a bit of your own personality, and make it known you are there to help them or solve a problem they might have. Make it known that you are the go to person for what they are looking for.

If you've been buying all your traffic via ads, this is not good to do for all types of products. You can buy initially to test if you have a product or website that will convert - but then once you find it is something people want and you know your funnel is functioning then it is time to drive traffic using long term strategies. Things like backlinking, article marketing, social networking, video marketing, etc. These are things that can be done once and have long term traffic driving power.

Also, once you decide a niche, there will be very specific ways to monetize that niche - and that will depend a lot on how others are doing it.

Not every niche is good for affiliate marketing or adsense or product creation, etc.

It's nuts, when you don't know exactly what your doing, spending money to make money online is no different than dropping the doe on 29 black in a Casino...

What's crazier, you have better odds of making money at the Casino...

Don't give up, just stop spending money....

LOL! I was going to say if you are tired of losing money online,
try a casino. They'll take your money!

Seriously, though, I would change your line:
          "just stop spending money..."

          to "stop wasting money..."

Don't give up your day job and learn. Most of the learning is free,
but takes time. Selling CB products is a concept I could never
master. Too much junk there and who needs more ebooks?

If you can't do adsense or amazon, which are the first 2 choices,
I would come up with your own product or service and sell
          yourself.

I second this idea. Start with your local business's. Look for opportunities there.
    What is your skill set?
    Can you build sites?
Can you register business's on Google places?
Can you upload content to the web?
Can you make and manage facebook pages?

If you take a look at what you've learned from your online experience. You'll probably find there are loads of things you can sell to your local business's.

    Hope that helps!

i think you spend so much money on it. there are lots of ways to getting traffic, i mean free of cheaper ways, you should not spend so much money on buying them.
besides, you'd better set a plan, do not spend so much money one time.

E-marketing and e-business, the make-money-online market, is crowded and the market is jaded. You'd probably do better going into a different niche with a different target market.

Others here have offered a fantastic idea: exploit your location and start a business associated with the tourist market. You could find cruise lines, hotels, tour companies, restaurants, etc. that have affiliate programs. Or you could strike up a JV deal with those local companies.

Or, you could sell information products related to the tourist market: tour guides, for example. Or you could create a review site.

There are a lot of ideas. If you'd rather not go this direction, choose a niche and target market you ARE interested in. Unless you're absolutely in love with the MMO niche, avoid it. And even if you love the MMO, you need to be very savvy about marketing in general and have a interest in it deep enough to sustain you during the inevitable ups and downs.

My guess is you picked a Clickbank product and did a little promoting, but not enough to see results. You need to be absolutely clear on WHO will buy your product or service and why they buy it. My guess is you don't know much about your target market. (A common problem.)

      You need to:

      1. Pick a niche
      2. Pick a target market
      3. Pick a business model (products, services or a membership biz? Or a combination?)

Once you're crystal clear on these things, then form a solid marketing plan and FOCUS!

      F -- Follow
      O -- One
      C -- Course
      U -- Until
      S -- Successful

Don't look at anything else until you've achieved some success with what you're doing. Work your marketing plan consistently.

        This is all so true.

You know you have to focus only on one method, because that is what will really work.

Here is one piece of advice for you: If you are not familiar with paid advertising then I suggest that you just go for the free traffic in the beginning. Article writing, Ezine articles and linkbuilding etc classifieds. You also need to pick a niche with clickbank that actually converts. you can see at the gravity part. Just try out the new clickbank products that just started to convert from 20 to fourty percent. If you see a product that hasn't got any sale, I suggest you don't even bother to do the sale.

        Target your Keywords

Follow the steps one by one with one method

PS: I made sales when I build some backlinks every day. That really helped me out.
If you want to promote a traveling agency, look up if they have made some sales.

Damn, I feel sorry for you. All you can do is take it as a learning experience and move on. When it comes to making money online, there are several paths you can take. The fastest way to make money online is by providing a service like writing content for other people (ghostwriting) or by offering some kind of other service like website design or something. The reason is because as a service provider, you get paid via Paypal. You have to be organized and work with deadlines to do this.

Another option and perhaps the most common amongst those of us who make money online is to start your own niche blog that focuses on a particular theme and usually contains product reviews and related info. They not only allow you to profit from things you have an interests in, but the income is residual - work once and continue to earn money with no extra work, you can create several sources of income from the same blog, and work around your schedule. Niche blogs are also great for the holidays and beyond, tried and true, long-term method.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Do not go away. This is just like the real world. You can not spend money with out thinking. There is a product line there for you that will make you money and it just takes time to develop both the product and the customer base. Nothing on the internet is free, however there are more scammers who make their product seem truly too good to be true. YOU know what they say if it seems too good to be true it often is.

The best thing about online businesses is that it doesn't take a whole lot of money to get started.. On the other hand, it takes a lot of work and sweat equity.. If you're investing a lot of money and no hard work then you're doing something wrong.. Growth will come slowly but it will come if you provide a valuable service or content through your sites..

Ok, so I've had similar "luck", although I've spent only a few thousand dollars and have only been at it a bit over a year, mostly very part time.

I've just hooked up with a great coach who has taught me a simple but really powerful concept... it's nothing new... but it's what I needed to get me untracked: get ONE strategy only. ie., article marketing, affiliate marketing, whatever. Work ONLY on that one strategy for 60 days, but put real TIME into it (i'm working at it 6 hours a day right now), stay focused on only that one thing and don't even look at anything else. Then reassess.

There may be a million ways to succeed, but you only need ONE.

When exactly. This post was placed in August. It's now October and all your presences on the internet haven't changed at all.

Thank you so much for the invitation.

I did, and this is what I found:

David Oriol and Mr David Oriol

      MoneyMaker group.com Member 251,780 - Introduction and 5 posts - all meaningless
Youtube: 3 videos. None of them yours. Make money online, weight loss and and a nasty aggressive "I am a Champion" video
Fiverr: How to plan a Carib Vacation for $5 and I will show how To Virtually Cheat Your Way To Success Using PLR for $5
      UK Chatterbox: Account closed down
      Swom.com: No feedback or interaction

There were others, but I got bored. I'm not going to bother with this waster any more, and I suggest other Warriors make betteruse of their time, like knitting or trying to get the fluff out of your belly button.

Since I came onto this thread 15 minutes ago, three of his posts have been removed. And I know why.

He even posted that he'd bought another product. Do we care?

I'm off now to find a real good cause.

Definitely don't spend money anymore until you really know what you are doing. There is SO much free and super cheap marketing out there (article marketing, etc) and with some good old fashioned elbow grease (...well, keyboard grease), you can hit your niches with a hammer! It (as you know I'm sure) takes patience but you do not have to be losing that kind of money anymore.

How did you spent that money!?

Never invest some money before you earn it.

It's look like you approached from wrong angle.

Don't give up. Just change your tactic

If you spent $25,000 on content (articles, videos, etc...), you could be pulling in some serious cash by now.

Yes, buying stuff from Internet marketers online makes you no money.

You need to find a way to be totally unique - something that uses your unique skills and passion.

I have put together a ecourse, "Internet Marketing 101" which is an easy to follow, 300+ page course I used to teach at a local college.

I am currently beta testing it and you can pick up a free copy and let me know what you think of it.

      Hello David,

my advice would be, whenever you have a question about internet marketing and before you spend any more money, ask the experts on this forum!

They are extremely helpful and will guide you in the right direction.

      Good luck!

      Sam.

Stop spending money online. Learn how to make money without spending money. Create Squidoo lenses, Hub pages, and Blogger blogs where you’ll promote Amazon products. Link all these pages.

Here is how to create man squidoo lenses in a short period of time:

    http://www.squidoo.com/passive-income-website-traffic-squidoo-beginners-guide

You have to create many quality lenses. This is a sure way to make money online but you have to work creating many quality lenses. Quantity and quality. Write original content for your lenses because now Squidoo is not accepting content already promoted online. Create stores, without having to write articles if you are not a good writer. However, write a description about each item because this will help you sell your products in a lens.

You should also offer your services. What can you do? Can you write articles? You can sell your services at websites like Elance and Odesk. I don’t like them, but many people do. They are famous online.

These are the simplest methods to make money online. Stop spending and start working hard.

Its an extremely hard business to make money online. I drive, develope and advertise a listing site and getting sales and people to sign up is like pulling hens teeth. You need a proffesional to help you out. I'm sorry to hear you lost all that money, hell I would be bumbed completely. But I read a post on here that said you should go for a more local idea and she is right. start with your country seeming that Turkey is well renound and many people visit it every year, maybe start something online to do with tourism.

    Mate,

Try my "make money" site in my signature. Its free and will show you how to make money without spending. My first adsense site has hit a high of $2,000 a month and usually averages around $1,400.

You dont need to spend money to make money in IM.

Wow this is a fascinating post, firstly there is no problem going about educating yourself, but you have obviously been going about it the wrong way.
For that sort of money you should have at least one full mentored program, start on it and follow it through. Don't get sidetracked.
Once you have made your first dollar more will follow, whatever made you the first dollar, do it again and again, and slowly add a second string to that bow.
Refunds. Many of the products sold in this new wave of internet marketing are blind offers, stop buying them, they will do you more harm than good.

Take a stand, of the product isn't good enough to educate me and give me some serious idea of what it Is before you spend, then don't spend on it.
To many internet marketers win by default, the product is crap, but it's cheap and difficult to get a refund, if it's crap get a refund immediately, if it really is good implement it immediately.

There is an opportunity here if you look hard enough, ask yourself why are you buying these and create a product that tells people how to spot a great product and how to spot a crap one.

Pick a really good mentor and follow their system.

Look at what is happening at present on the internet. Success leaves clues.

All I can say is that you CAN make money online with little investment (basically domain and hosting). Once you have a site that earns you a consistent income, then you can start to spend money on advertising, outsourcing and so on.

People seem to think that spending money on Advertising, Traffic and so on is a quicker way to make money, but I honestly don't think there's anything like getting Organic Traffic from ranking highly in the SERPs.
