Article Marketing Business Model

Im a new to IM ive been reading the forums alot as of late and have gathered plenty of good information. Thank you to everyone contributing here their are a lot of insightful people with good advice.

My question concerns Article Marketing. I will be doing Affiliate marketing as my first venture. When writing my article and submitting it to an article directory do I write an article tempting the reader to buy my affiliate product than post a link to it or should the link lead the reader to a squeeze page with an opt in form to create a list? Which method would be better for someone doing affiliate marketing and most of all generating sales.

Thanks

    Hey there,

My biggest tip would be to just start doing stuff. Yeah - Just DO stuff. Stop reading, stop asking questions, stop wondering what would happen. Just DO stuff.

That said, I've made money by creating a blog, putting up 5 posts and then submitting articles directed to the blog which sell a particular product.

Ezine Articles usually doesn't allow direct linking, so you'll usually have to have some kind of page in between. It can be a presell or an email capture page. For a beginner, I'd probably just go with a quick presell so you can start making money now, then once you're profitably start building a list.

Thanks for your help Derek. Sorry if this is a really newb question but by presell do you mean for example. If i choose the fat loss niche and i wrote an article about burning fat at the end of the article i would place my cloaked affiliate id that links to a page like www*burnthefat*com (this being an example of a presell page?) or am I missing something.

Well, usually I'd link it to a website I own first that tells them a little more about the product. I do that because EzineArticles usually doesn't allow you yo directly link to affiliate websites, even if they're cloaked.

What would be a good example of a presell page? I guess writing a review would be an option however are there any better avenues than a review of the product?

Don't think about promoting your products when doing article marketing, think about what good information you can provide to the readers, when readers get interested in your article, they will definitely wanted to check out your site or blog, you then can promote your affiliate products or get them to subscribe to your ezine there.

This is what you should do. It is more work in the beginning but you will earn more because you have a list you can sell more products to.

You are also in control of the backlinks and the traffic when you send the article readers to your own web site instead to other sites.
