Is Putting a Product on Clickbank Worth it?

I just put a product up on Clickbank. It got approved and all that.

I have no start up affiliates or lists to blast it to to try to raise the 'gravity'.

Is it worth it to put something on there with no affiliate promotion?

Will people find it?

Heck I can't even find the darn thing ON clickbank.

When I type in the keywords, the results are completely different things.

Just put up a link to your affiliate program on your site, don't worry about finding affiliates, when people see your site and find your product to be useful, they will want to join your affiliate program through the link on your site. Hope that helps.

You absolutely need to promote your product. Just because you built it doesn't mean they will come. And it's true that you need to make some sales before Clickbank will list your product in its marketplace.

I would recommend creating a few clickbank accounts for yourself first.

Lets say you create 8 accounts. Now try to hit at least 2 sales/account with your own affiliate link asap.

    Why?

Let me tell you this is the BEST way to get initial boost to your gravity and will be a great great investment to get you on the marketplace. If your in a non competitive niche, Once you reach a gravity of abt 6-10, You will see a nice increase in the no, of affiliates promoting your product, not to mention, more sales and more $$$!

Hey I just my own product up there and got a sale within a few minutes!

It is DEFINITELY worth putting a product on Clickbank, espcially if you have no JV partners / brand in the market yet.

You can see my product in my sig link.

It doesn't really matter if it's on the list if Clickbank's products or not. Unless your gravity is 50+ 99.9% of affiliates will not pay attention to it... Personal experience

You need to act as though you are the affiliate of your own product. Use the full panoply of your traffic generation mechanisms and drive some sales.

Send out review copies to the main players in your niche asking them to review the product. Advertise for affiliates, offer upfront even bonuses and freebies as incentives to potential affiliates.

Send out some press release saying New affiliate Program. Offer commission of at least 60%, encourage buyers of your product to become affiliates.
Submit your affiliate program in affiliate directories like programs Associateprogram.com etc. The best way to approach Clickbank is by getting some sales first but I feel putting a product on clickbank is worth it.

    All the best.

How can I tell when I get a sale via clickbank? How can tell if new affiliates have joined my program?

Also -- I know my product is ON clickbank.. but how the hell can i find it? I can't find the darn thing on there when I use the search tool

Lets say my product is revolves around cat food.

Lets say someone comes on wanting to promote something in the cat food niche.

When they type in "Cat food", my product doesn't even pop up..

What the sam hell is going on?

Is there some good guideline available on how to go about this process (putting a product on Clickbank)? I have never put a product on Clickbank but I would like to do it in future so a ready reference would be helpful...

You need to first set up a kick-ass affiliate resource page, then a doorway page with an opt-in form on it so you can capture affiliates' email addresses and have them on a list.

Then you can advertise for dirt cheap in ezines - BUT...

You don't advertise your actual product, you advertise your affiliate program instead.

You have to 'sell' JV's on promoting, just like you have to sell your prospects on buying.

Make it mind-numbingly simple for them to promote your stuff, and once you have some conversion stats, you can approach people in your market with big lists, and be like

"Here's my product, and it converts at X.X%. Which means you can easily make $XXX for every hundred visitors you send to the page. We have great resources available for you as well making this 'push-button easy' for you"

I think you may be able to attract a few affiliates with no effort if you're lucky (hey, it's not impossible!), but to make the kind of money worth your effort you probably want to actively search for affiliates and give them every possible promotion tool you can.
