Whats the best way to derive actual usable info on visitors, not just large quantities of data

I'm looking for some kind of program that can help me understand my visitors experience better so i can continually optimize my site. I know Google Analytics is out there but its a bit technical for me, i would prefer something more visual, something that can actually show me, instead of just giving me massive amounts of statistics.

I haven't seen anything that's easier to use than Google Analytics. Between goals and funnels you can easily track just about anything you want to track. Have you watched some good analytics tutorial videos? It's reallt a relatively simple program once you understand how to look at the data it provides.

One alternative useful for A-B testing are heat map generator services like crazyegg.com, clicktale.com and userfly.com these are pretty much just for user interface optimization, not conversion tracking, some show screen recordings of individuals interacting.

For $39 UserTesting.com will provide videos of users using your site and written evaluations.
