Facebook's New SUBSCRIBE Feature???

Interesting little feature facebook has now. If you reach the friend limit (which is around 5000 i think) then you can subscribe to a persons page and actually CHOOSE what kind of updates you want to see from them.

You have the choice to disable it, but im sure tons of the more popular facebookers will leave it on. Permission to stalk me.....GRANTED lol.

They are definitely stepping up to the plate with the release of Goog+
I tested to new skype feature they have as well. AND they have this new grouping type feature which is strangely similar to googles circles feature.

What do you all think? Are they playing copycat a bit too much? Honestly I like facebook. Their stuff pays some of my bills lol, but I think they should be more innovative with their features at the moment. But I guess goog+ was the extra push they needed.

IMO it's okay if they play a little bit of copycat because 99% of new websites copy them in some sort of way.

Not sure if it's got anything to do with the "friends limit".
I've got around 200 friends and also had this feature as of this morning.
    Pretty cool one indeed, though!

I'm not a fan of FB but I don't think it's a good idea to just copy someone else's idea. I don't know much about the law behind copying and stuff though.

I'm definitely happy that you can click on the X next to an update in your news feed and choose to hear more or less about each of your friends. That is priceless, along with the new privacy setting that you have to approve of any tags before they show up on your profile.
