I need to find one that DOESN'T SUCK!

What is the best sales page you've ever seen? For any software/program, I'm just looking for some inspiration.

I've been trying to find some and so far I'm only coming across badly designed, obnoxious, hypy pages. Any help?

So why are you not finding the kind of pages you like?
Could it be that those pages you DON'T like are the
    pages that are selling?

    Food for thought.

What I mean is I want to find a classy example of a good landing page.

I don't want to go for the typical, loud ("STOP... I'm about to reveal to you a BIG SECRET!") type of pages. I want an example of something real.

Hard to choose. For software, I'd have to say Roboform's new home page. Short, punchy headlines. All benefit driven. Smooth. Easy to order.

I see what you mean, but the job of a good landing page is to be effective - to make you (or whoever lands there) do what the creator wants you to do. It can be to buy something, leave a comment or give your e-mail address - whatever. Doesn't matter.

If it achieves that, it's effective and does its job. It does not have to be nice or win an art competition. Not even a copywriting competition.

Go to many landing pages and see which ones make you do what it's intended to do. Then copy that in your own style.

I like the Roboform site too. Thanks for mentioning it.

One I like is The Second Tier (not an affiliate link), one of Russel Brunsen's sites.

Agree. Both The Second Tier and SENukeX are very good. But a couple of things I would like to have seen ...

The Second Tier is promoting Russell's affiliate program for his products, membership sites, DVD clubs, etc. Should someone who didn't know him or his products read that letter, they wouldn't have much to go on. No info on his background or inventory list of products. Don't know if that was intentional or not ...

SENukeX. Short, impressive video. Loads of testimonials and screenshots. Free 14-day Trial Download button stands out on the page. However, when you click on a screenshot or testimonial, the salespage darkens and the only way to get back is a tiny "close x" in the top right corner. That needs to be larger IMHO. The second a visitor can't find it, they'll simply leave the site.

Not being critical here. Just a big believer in the importance of website usability and transparency. It's easy to tell by your stats exactly how many people left your site without buying today. It's harder to figure out why.
