What resolution size is best for screen capture video

Hello warriors hope your having a prosperous day.

I am creating a video product, using camtasia. then streaming to the web with video web wizard.

I am wondering what resolution size would you recommended for clear picture quality.

Videos will be short 5 minutes, but there will be about 15 of them.

Thanks Warriors.

Theres value in the trial and error effort. I always just tell people not to use the full screen because its way too hard for people to see exactly what you are doing.

      It depends on the content.

Some content needs a big screen to be seen effectively, some content can be displayed in a small sized video.

Plus dont forget you can use the Camtasia zoom effects to zoom in on where the action is.

I would try making a few short 30 second videos at different resolutions to see what works best for what you are doing.

What I've done in the past for training videos where I'm showing what's happening on my screen is use a high resolution but restrict the recording area to a smaller size, like 800 x 600 at the bottom right corner of my screen.

I then move the "My Computer" and trash icons to the top right of that area and make sure that anything I want to record is in that area. It "looks" like I'm recording the full screen but I'm not.

      It works well.

      Cheers,
