Where would you live when you are successful?

A great deal of the people I have met who are into Internet Marketing have lots of exciting goals.

Most seem to be very capable people and want to get more out of life.

Many have a goal of making enough income to be able to work from home and also be able to choose when they work etc.

I know there is more to life than money, but when you reach the income level you are aiming for, where would you like to live?

Let's say you were making enough money to be able to afford two homes, where would you choose to live and why?

I am going to try and figure this out for myself. Sort of give myself a goal to work towards for myself and my family. It's not something I had thought of much before.

Once you start making money online one can see that there are increased possibilities about where you can live.

Perhaps give a couple of choices for your own country and then another two if you could live anywhere in the world.

This could be a very motivational exercise. I hope so.

So where would you like to live and why?

I would like to live inside of ***** ******. Hmmm, as for "places"....

I see myself having homes in 3 different places. Tokyo, New York, and possibly Rio. Then taking mini vacations within that structure.

I enjoy large vibrant cities, and I enjoy many different kinds of people. I will probably build large social circles within those 3 places and have a really fast paced life.

This is for sure, although not sure yet on Rio, that may swap out for another city. Sounds like you don't know yet where you want to go.

This is something to really think about! Especially now since people are losing their homes right now. I actually really like my home that I live in right now and I love where I live!

But if I could just take my pick and live ANYWHERE, I would love to live in Maui, Hawaii, Shell Beach, Ca and in Aquitaine Region of France- Southwestern area in the wine region. Absolutely beautiful there! Ahhh, just the thought of that place makes me relaxed.....

On the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Actually, just moved here three weeks ago. Not quite on the water yet, but you gotta start somewhere.

A couple years ago, I really (unrealistically for me and my family) fantasied about moving to Basel Switzerland. I know, about as far from the Chesapeake as possible, but I love that region.

Antibes, south of France would be nice too.

I'd just like to figure out how to have a 10,000 sq.ft. "mobile" home. Then, you could live just about anywhere and move anytime.

Also needs to be able to float, withstand high winds including hurricanes and tornadoes, resistant to EMP, secure against NBC attacks, etc.

        Perth, Western Australia.

Because it appears to have been designed and built, based on my dreams, and my own personal version of heaven.

It's also the most isolated city in the world and you can feel it.

Thanks for your comment, but I beg to differ.

I think it could be very motivational to actually give some thought to where one wants to live, especially as a direct result of ones Internet Marketing efforts. Especially as a goal of many is to work from home.

So where should home (or homes) ideally be?

      Michael,

If you want to be alone, you might want to rethink that Disney thing.

      For me:

      In US :
      The Florida Keys
      The Florida Keys

      Anywhere in the world:
      Mexico
      Grand Cayman
      (summer house in Australia)

OR.... ONE BIG A** BOAT! Then I could live EVERYWHERE.

At this moment I do not know, but I have just initiated a plan to figure it out within the next six months. At the end of June 2009 I should be able to answer this question.

I live on the coast in California. I enjoy the year round growing season. Roses are blooming right now and the farmers are havesting strawberries.
I will do demographcis studies online.
I will check weather. I don't want freezing winters or minimal freeze.
I am guessing California, Hawaii, Florida.

Im already living in a nice place (across from a lake, down the road from a beach), but when when I feel like taking out another (much larger) mortgage I plan to buy at least 20 acres of bushland with a small house on it so I can be surrounded by nature and wildlife and with as little human interference as possible.

For now I'm quite happy having the beach 2 minutes away, there's nothing like starting the day with a walk on a long deserted beach.

I would like to have a home on a beach - but it would have to be a private beach as I don´t do tourists.....

Yep, I'm with Rachel with this one. Although where I am now is sort of the Hills region, or foothills at least. However, after a recent road trip, I thought it would be nice living in the Mt Gambier region, Eden, or Coffs Harbour.

This thread brought me to lala land!!! I think I would travel first.....and see where I'd like to live. BUT I think I would like to own atleast 2-4 homes...all in different places. I live in chicago now...and sometimes the snow just makes me want to move somewhere warm, but during the summertime...it makes me want to live somewhere where there's snow. I'd have a beach house somewhere, maybe 2 beach houses. A place by a skiing resort, and another...that would keep me grounded and remind me where I came from.

      Still looking...

The fact that my wife has some say-so in the matter makes it a bit more difficult.

Somewhere that doesn't get nearly as much rain as where I live now (western Washington state). Somewhere that doesn't get terribly hot in the summer.

We visited southern California recently, and liked the 70 degree January weather. But it gets too damn hot in the summer. And with the water getting low in the northern California reservoirs, the hydro plants may soon not be generating enough electricity to send much juice south.

It's a difficult decision. We may just travel until we fall in love with a place.

If it were for the U.S. I would have a nice cozy cabin/house in Vermont, because I love snowboarding and Vermont has excellent mountains. My second house would be San Diego. 70-80 degrees year round, beautiful ocean and beaches, the people are very relaxed...you really can't beat that. My ideal spot would be the beautiful island of Oahu somewhere near Honolulu. This is based on my experience of the most beautiful place I've been so far. They have public beaches & a few more private/secluded beaches, mountains to climb etc. Well that & beautiful Asian women as far as the eye can see as well as tourists from the US, Australia etc.

Wake up, take a jog on a beach, take a dip in the ocean then home to shower. Next, eat a nice fruit of smoothie breakfast then grab my laptop & sit on my balcony or the beach for a few hours "working".

This would be mainly during the winter/cold months as Chicago is pretty kick ass in the spring/summer even though the humidity's a bit much I LOVE IT compared to the blistering cold. Also some of my family & most of my friends are here & I wouldn't want to give them up for nothing. Well actually I can do without them for a few months at a time.

I live in a smallish semi detached house and have done for the last 30 years.

People are constantly surprised because we don't live in a bigger house, but I love my home, its big enough for me and hubby, and the grandkids when they come to stay. I've never seen the point in having all that extra housework

The only time I would ever move would be to somewhere that had lots of land so I could keep horses.

I even considered moving near my daughter last year when a bungalow came up for sale near her, but decided I was too old to take out a big mortgage lol.

I've promised the grandkids a pony each in a couple of years, so I'll probably regret not getting that property when I did when I'm paying a fortune in livery

Hubby would move out to Tenerife in a shot!

    Cheers
