Hey guys I am looking to run a few zip submit campaigns to see how they work. In order for a lead to be generated does the user only have to enter his/her zip and go to the next page? How quickly do the networks become notified that a lead was generated? And thus, how quickly do the networks pay once they have established a lead has been generated?

You're paid as soon as the visitor enters their zip code; stats are reported instantly. The thing about these offers is you have to keep close contact with your account manager to make sure your quality is backing out for the advertisers (ie: completing offers on the backend). I've personally made a lot of money with these offers but it's always best to rotate between 5 - 10 different ones to see which work best with your traffic. These are without a doubt one of the easiest ways to break into CPA affiliate marketing though since the user isn't required to buy anything. You just need cheap traffic to make them work.

I emailed a friend my link for the zip submit offer I would like to run a campaign for. He clicked on it and submitted his zip. When I went to run a report on my campaign the network said I had 1 click and 0 conversions, is this normal?

Well yeah every network/advertiser out there is going to have a scrub in place. This is how they make offers like this work. So send more traffic than just 1 click and you'll get some conversions.
