Here's a smashing idea for going offline...!

Host a local business seminar.

I was just sitting around thinking about how I could best maximize my efforts and the idea just hit me.

Throughout the end of the week, I'll be drafting my plans for starting in this business. I plan to get a fresh start on Monday morning, and I'm hoping for some superb results like others have experienced thus far.

Anyhow, I decided that I could appeal to more business owners in a seminar setting. I could coordinate an entire event centered around bringing their businesses online.

Now, of course, I'm going to need to make a few sales beforehand. But, I figure if I can have a course of action set out now, when I have the funds available, I can do this to push my business to an entirely new level.

I think that it would be nice to have a smaller setting, at most about 50 business owners. I'd be comfortable speaking in front of a lot more, but I think to maintain a more personal feel that such a number is acceptable. I would serve refreshments, or rather have the event catered- maybe a lunch or early dinner.

I'm also planning to develop a presentation binder to give to business owners so that they can visualize what I'm saying to them.

Ok, I'm going to revisit this thread in just a bit to finish writing out my idea. But that's the gist of it. I've got details, but my head is spinning with excitement so I've got to regroup.

Feel free to add your own ideas and such!

This is a great idea and one i'm going to implement myself.

If you read David Preston's report he reveals how he sets these workshops up step by step and he's making bank with that method alone.

    Cheers

Make sure you take George Wright's post to heart and be sure there's coffee.

I'm in the process of setting up a seminar myself so let us know how everything goes on your end.

Jan - thanks for the info about David Preston's book.

Haha, yes coffee. And me, personally, I prefer Dunkin Donuts as well.

I too am going this route. Addressing a mass instead of 1 at a time makes sense. Just have your ducks in a row, be the expert!! There are a bunch of posts in the "cash cow" thread about success stories with seminars and webinars for marketing to offline businesses.
Keep us posted on the outcome...
    Good luck.

This definitely makes a lot of sense and has the added benefit of you being seen as the expert.

Are you sponsoring the seminar yourself or going through an organization such as SCORE or a non-profit?

      Are you charging? How Much?

Another avenue to go is to offer an adult education course at one of the local colleges (I'm in North Florida and some of the colleges here will let you teach an adult education course on a subject that your familiar with.)

This is another way to brand yourself.

I've always known there was gold in them thar hills..but now I know where to look.
