What is it to be 'an affilaite'...I was asked...
I figured this may be interesting to some folks out there...
On my current project...I was sent this message...

I have recently received an email regarding the pre-launch on Jan. 26th. I checked out the website and it sounds interesting. The only problem is I have never been involved in something like this so I'm not sure if it will costs me anything and I don't know what the "list" is/or means. If you could get back to me I would appreciate it.

My response was this...

At the high-level...an affiliate usually has a list of people they already
have on 'a list' (they have the ability to mail to it when they want) and
then we will help them figure out what to mail for our promotion. Starting
off with free content and then ending with sending an email telling
'their list' that they can buy something.
Other folks will be an affiliate and market by doing PayPerClick on Google
or the other search engines. They put up adds sending traffic to either our
free giveaways (start Jan 26) and/or the sales letter when we have it up
starting on Feb 4th.
Some will advertise for either the giveaways or the sales letter in other ways
such as using our banners or through other social media (Like Facebook and
Twitter).
Some may just send their affiliate link to family, friends and coworkers. This
program will be incredible...with life changing information being provided.
Anyone could feel good about passing along the giveaways we are offering,
and even letting people know about the sales letter when that becomes available.
So...if any of those (Knowing the 'the list' one doesn't) sounds like something
you're interested in...then feel free to signup, (Our entire affiliate program is free)

Okay...so...I'm very busy these days....so didn't have time to
write more then that for the person...
But...I did figure it was a nice short and sweet response to that
kind of question.
In case anyone else out there ever gets that kind of question...
