Im 14 and in need of some help

Hello, I was reccomended to come here by a few people over my time and I have finally decided to come check it out and see if it is worth the hype!

So, lets get to the point of the post. Basically I am 14 Years old and I am trying to set myself up some sort of regular income, of course you must be thinking "stick to school" or something like that, but its not like that for me. I used to live with my parents until they split up and left me in a care home, there it is basically everyone for themselves and it doesn't give me much freedom with money and staying in tune with the "in" gadgets (which I never am anyway!) I would also like some money to keep behind to give myself a better future.

So far, online I have made around £100 in the 5-6 Months I have been pirsuting some form of online money making business, and most of that money was with Fiverr by doing some articles here and there and also some Yahoo answers, but of course, again you are probably thinking "whoah gotta be careful next time I go on fiverr and check to make sure they aren't 14 years old!" but yet again, you are wrong, I never received any bad feedback and I am still going about it today! Just now, I have set up a Yahoo Answers website where I basically charge less than I do on Fiverr for some Yahoo answers, I am even giving free review answers! But of course, I do not expect it to go far, well... not really at all, I expect about 1 order, and that will come from asking people to go on it from Fiverr and not just natural traffic.

So, to the actual reason I posted here... I would like to know if anyone knows how I could make some money online by doing almost the same as what I am doing now, I would prefer it if it was a free way instead of a paid because I am quite short of money at the moment with a mere £1 in my paypal.

Any input that people put is really appreciated, I hope people were right about this forum.

Thanks for reading

      Whoah, quick responses or what!

      And oh, cool!

What actually is skype, I have never used it but is it like video calling and stuff?

I would post a link to the Yahoo site so people could check it out, but I think that may be against the rules

Just Google Skype, its amazing free software, it lets you call and chat with other Skype users for free.

Many more features there but you get the picture

I got to agree had I started younger I would be working for myself. Where I am at now mid career it is hard to replace my income with internet marketing income. And I am not willing to put in a lot of hours when I would want to work less thus the reason to work for myself.

Learn and do now while you want but don't "need" the income. By the time you need it you will have developed the stills to do this full time or if you decide to you can use the skills to get a job. I use the knowledge and skill I learn from IM in my job in internet sales & marketing for a dealership.

A good fair point, It is true but even if you don't need money, I still think it is a worthy asset to have for later on in life!

Hm, I can't really say I am good at IM but I used to be in the same shoes as you!

Just keep trying! Get some good websites set up!

Maybe make some mini blogs, also, if you are finding it a chore then choose a different form of IM!

I hate to rain on your parade, kiddo, but one way to get yourself banned from sites like Fiverr is to advertise ways to get around their system. Fiverr and the like are not in it for charity, and what you propose here is using their system to pick their pockets.

I give you props for having some ambition and for not whining about your situation, but you have to be careful with your ethics.

Good luck. I wish you well...

    hello
this is what I recommend. I would do fvver services until I saved up enough money to offer services on the warrior forum. It only cost $20 and you'll make your money back quickly. You can also charge more per word and people are always looking for good article writers. Your English-speaking which is a big plus. I released a Seo service on the warrior forum and made over $800 in two days.
    I hope it helped

Mate, you are young.. youtube might be a good place for you. It has LOTS of traffic, you just gotta find out how to leverage on it. You can for eks contact people that are OUTSIDE IM with high traffic vids they dont understand is valuable ask them to place a link in their video for free/or for a small amount of money. If you ask enough people you will get responses.

Some do it for free anyway.. Maybe offer them something in return that they would want. whatever.. this can be a great source of traffic anyway.. pluss you can upload as many vids as you want to youtube, in any niche oyu want to target.. put the link in and get traffic that way... lots of ways to use youtube. I like it anyway.. and ive gotten nice traffic from there simply posting related comments pointing to my channel, which again points to my website.

    OKAY, wow...

    14 years old... Nice.

Just from reading this thread, I do have some input on your situation as I can
certainly relate. I totally respect that you are trying to create an income for
yourself at such an early age, but you also need to stick with the things that
    still matter such as SCHOOL.

If you fall behind in school, you also will be sacrificing chances to receive grants
and scholarships. Perform well in your studies. If you are wanting to get some cash
to go out with friends or buy new technology, then I'd recommend getting a job.

    You are very young still...

You still have a long life ahead of you. Learn the necessary business skills while you
are young and once you are of age, start expanding knowledge with experiences that
    you have.

    Best Regards,

    Jake Gray

You have an impressive list of services on Fiverr. These are a great start, but Fiverr really underpays for your time. Until you respect your own time, others won't respect your time.

One of the first steps is to find a target audience with strong needs and then find and create products and services to help them. These people will pay a lot more for solutions.

I have a 300+ page "Internet Marketing 101 " ecourse that is in beta testing that you can download for free to get ideas with this approach.

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing but... isn't called... marketing? Lol

I think it is great to want to start an online business at this age... I have often wished for my kids to put their talents at use online... It is certainly better than my son becoming an "excellent" con artist and he is only 12!

Still, make sure you prioritize and keep up with school.

Thanks alot, but the thing is with Fiverr is that the traffic is already there and it is so much easier than simply making your own website and driving traffic to it!

I shall check out your course in a minute! Hope it is worth my time.

      Thanks.

Hey, this is one good decision you made. Your age is on your side. How I wish I was you

You mentioned that you were doing articles on fiverr and I just though maybe if I give you some article sites, they may help. Register with londonbrokers, iwriter and constant-content. They are free to start with and you will make some good earn just writing articles.

You may also add me on skype and I will help you out as much as I can.

Good age to get started. I wish my grandson had the initiative you are showing just by asking the questions and the small start you have made.

I recommend using www.squidoo.com to get started. That is not an affiliate link. You should start making some money after you have several lenses up (Squidoo calls a Web page a lens), and you don't have to know how to design Web pages to use Squidoo. It is free to join and you make money either by sharing revenue or by selling items from Amazon, eBay, or Cafe Press. I will send you a PM with a link to one of my lenses that sells pretty consistently. I don't make a lot of money with Squidoo, yet, because I haven't had time to really build it up, but I am getting money into my PayPal account every month, now. It's a good start.

Best wishes for your future in IM,

Another question pops up, which may not be relevant in your country...

At 14, how were you able to enter into legal contracts with Paypal and Fiverr? Did someone of legal age sign for you, or did you lie about your age?

I'm not picking on you, but getting caught out in a lie could result in ruining later opportunities.

Someone of legal age did it for me, so no worries there.

Also, need some input from people here.

I got a Fiverr order saying this:

I have two websites that need yahoo answers Can you do 8 for the first one and 7 for the other?

Site 1.) link here Keywords: Butt pills, get a bigger butt, get bigger butt.

Site 2.) link here keywords: natural male enhancement, male enhancement, butea superba

This is what they aksed me to do for their Yahoo answers, do you think I should go ahead with the order?

The thing that tips it over the edge for me is the scarecity of topics to do with this meaning my job would be 100x harder.

          What do you guys think?

          Thanks.

            RE: your Fiverr order...

Is it worth your time to do it for the ~$4 you'll net from doing it?

If yes, do it. If no, don't do it.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it for ethical reasons (my own personal ethics).

@ your fiverr question: I wouldn't. When I used to write articles for clients, I took a male enhance order once without thinking it would be a problem. 30 articles later I realized that some things just aren't worth the dollars :-)

Well, its money either way I suppose.

I am making quicker money than I would any other way though, so for me it seems worthwhile.

Until I find a different way to make myself some good money then I shall go to that, but for now I shall stick with Fiverr!

I may try my luck with squidoo!

1 - Do NOT mention your youthfulnes on any advertising copy you produce, or products. People could see this as an invitation to try to scam you etc. Plus it sounds like the very worse sort of emotional blackmail. 'Please buy this from me, I am just a kid, I tried hard!' sort of thing. Just like putting something like 'I created this product to raise funds for my dying son', it is a really bad thing to have on the page - whether it is true or not. I am not saying you would use those exact words, of course, just that mentioning it at all COULD look like that is what you are trying to do

2- Be polite and professional, always. Your posting is excellent, by the way. You are coherent, well-mannered and respectfull. A lot of people twice your age seem to struggle with these. No one will guess your age to be able to hold it in anyway against you if you continue to act with such impressive maturity.

3 - Study and then study some more. You can never read too much or listen too much. If you read any of the acclaimed books on personal development you will see this stated again and again. To be really successful (at anything atall) you need to learn all you can about it. And spend time THINKING about it too. Be an active learner, not a passive one.
The fact you are posting here shows you already have an urge to learn :-)

4 - Listen to all advice you are offered. Think about it. Then (quietly, hehe) reject that which you feel is flawed. Ask a hundred people the best way to sell something and you will probably get 100 answers. No, make that 99 answers, there is ALWAYS someone who just copies someone else ;-)

5 - Never lower your integrity. It is your biggest asset. I know it is tempting at times, and those who do seem to reap rewards, but keeping on the right side of the laws, being honest and trustworthy and keeping your promises will win you more respect, trust and success in the long run. Plus you will sleep better at night :-)

6 - Be yourself. You are unique. Let that shine through at times. We hear a lot about USPs (unique selling points) and it is true that any new product is going to stand a better chance for having at least one. So what is your USP? When marketing we are selling ourselves as well as our products. This is the very essence of branding. If I was buying a bottle of drink and the shop had bottles of cola for sale, Diet Coke and a brand I had not heard of, even if the 'other brand' were significantly cheaper I would want the Coke. The other one MAY taste much nicer for all I know, but I want a solution to my problem (I am thirsty now) and I know and trust the Coca Cola name.

7 - Never stop dreaming. If there is one thing which all self-made people seem to have in common it is that they believed they could do it. One day. Even when things went wrong. Even when others didn't have faith in them. Even when it seemed impossible. They still believed that one day... 'You gotta have a dream. If you don't have a dream how you gonna have a dream come true?'

I understand some of your points, I can see how people may see it as a grab for attention and get emotive sales etc, but I was just trying to ask

Thanks! Thats what I want, I do not want people to think or know that I am actually 14 years old, I want them to think that I am just as responsible as they are, meaning that they will respect me more and not try to scam me!

All of the rest of your points were very inspiring I am very glad I came here because some people here are actually inspirational, I thought I would just get a couple of rants about my age and a few good comments then that would be that, but it seems the complete opposite!

          Thanks.

            .

Oh no, I wasn't implying you had done that here! Your mentioning your age was relevant to your enquiry. Plus you are not trying to get us to buy anything

              Oh good!

I need some information and input from people about running my Fiverr services on a website of my own, how do I go about running it and getting traffic to the website to get the sales?

Or do I go for backlinks, but to be fair, I have tried with backlinking sites and SEO and all of that, but it wasn't for me at all... I got so frustrated about doing things and not really getting anywhere so I gave up on that.

              Got any reccomendations?

              Thanks.

You can start off by selling your services on Fiverr. For example,

    1) I don't know where you live, but if your country has some beautiful sights and buildings, offer a service where you hold a message in front of it.
    2) Find High PR backlinks and build them for $5
    3) Offer social bookmarking services
    4) Offer to build links on .edu blogs

Hm, yeah but I wanna try and move away from Fiverr a bit.. this is because they are in charge and can potentially cut me off at any time and boom.. I wouldn't have any income!

I have already got 1 order on my Answers website, so I am pretty happy about that!

EDIT - Just put the link in sig
