Finnish Startup Aims to Change Web Advertising.

What do you think? Possible or just more Hot Air?
I like the idea of quality photos for free.

To-day Kiosked opened its growing archive of some 5 million photos, which can be used on the Internet by anyone. Pictures are tagged with related advertisements, which can be clicked, and when these lead to sales, the copyright owner, content provider and Kiosked get a small cut.

"We will turn the Web upside down," co-founder Micke Paqvalen told Reuters in an interview. "We will turn the Internet into what it was originally intended to be -- the world's largest marketplace, without annoying banners."

It could be good. If I understand it correctly, it's like using images rather than text links to affiliate products. So if I want to be an affiliate, I can place relevant images on my site, and when visitors click on these images, they get sent to related ads. Is that the gist of it?

I believe you're right. What I like most about it is the quality images available.

On the forum we often see queries about where to get images free or cheap.
This could solve that problem and also provide a small income at the same time.
      Win/Win

Doesnt sound very realistic.. a market place will always have marketing.. kind of makes sense doesnt it.

It sounds like the image owner also gets a cut of the profits, which makes sense. I signed up, though they aren't quite open for membership yet. I like the idea of having a large database of images to choose from. It might be better than the free stock photo sites. I just wonder if there will be any enticement to get people to click on the photos. Because, usually when I look at a photo, I wouldn't think of clicking on it.

Thanks for bringing this up Ken.

    This looks interesting.

I'll fully look it over tomorrow, because my workday is done,

and I must drink a lot of beer now.

    Appreciated.
