Checkout page on your own domain - How much does it matter?

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a checkout page that is on my own domain (as opposed to a checkout on nanacast.com)

Does it make a meaningful impact on sales?

Thanks

Has anyone seen a lift from having your checkout page on your own domain?

I can't imagine not using anything but WP eComerce (open source) along with PayPal for secure payment processing on any website selling digital (downloadable) or physical goods.

WP eCommerce has a huge volume of third party support and addons, including excellent membership and affiliate modules from several third parties.

with an outsourced eCommerce program and payment processor you are at their mercy. When they make changes you have to adapt on their schedule. think about the issues going on at the moment with Facebook. Yes I realize that they are not processing transaction, but they are wrecking havoc on millions of people with their current changes, and they have no choice but to toe the line and do so immediately.

I personally prefer to maintain a bit more control of my house within my house.
