Hey everyone just wanted to give a quick post about my test with fiverr...I had never thought of trying it before but saw some people on here having some success so I gave it a shot.

so...I put up a gig this morning and by tonight I had my first sale!

So for anyone looking for a few quick bucks, I def think fiverr is a great way to go. Now I have to decide if I want to scale this up or try to work on the hundred other projects im trying to work on...ARGH!

Anyways, I hope this post helps someone who was on the fence about fiverr and needs some quick cash...take action and I promise you will make a few bucks.

Congrats on your first sale. I put a gig up there but it hasn't done anything. Any tips you can share?

I didn't really do anything too special...except had a catchy headline and wrote a long detailed offer...i think that may have helped.

Congrats on your first sale. I've been doing work on there for a while. It's a great source of supplemental income. Just make sure you get all your work done in the time allotted, otherwise you'll started to get negative feedback.

meh, if by "instant" you mean 2 weeks from now

lol dont get me wrong, fiverr is great for a hobby. but in no way will it pay your bills, or help you make "instant" cash.

they make you wait 2 weeks after the order has been marked complete before you can withdraw your money. then they take 1 dollar out of every order, so sellers really only get 3.92 per order they complete after fiverr+paypal fees.

thats worse than google adsense in my opinion, LOL

Not if it takes you 2 seconds to fill an order, like an ebook. Obviously it's more a side gig.

But it does take me 2 seconds to fill an order..?

And I still stand by my original post. lol but yeah I was just making sure that he/she knew that Fiverr isn't exactly instant cash.
          {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4727279].message }}
          • If you want to be paid instantly, go pick strawberries. It's hot, sweaty, dirty work but at least you'll have a little cash in hand at the end of the day.

Or, there's always day labor. You can hang out with the rest of the paisanos down on the corner. Could be a long wait, though, and you'd better be able to speak Spanish.

On the other hand, if you want to spend a few spare moments per day doing a tiny bit of work in the comfort of your own home or office, offer some gigs on Fiverr. That is, if you're only in it for the money and have no interest in building relationships.

totally agree, whereas in the uk due to the exchange rate its more like £2.50 pence!!NOT ALOT plus thats below the national minimum wage by at least 80%!!!

however you can make Fiverr work in your favour, the way to work it is to put up loads of gigs, you can do 20 max per account, make sure its something that wont take too much time to do, say about 5 mins max otherwise you will be on less than minimum wage.

The more gigs you have, the more chances you have of someone ordering your gig........if you have one gig, the chances of that being seen is significantly less.

To increase your chance of getting a sale, you can also tweet it or post it on facebook, there is now a button on the gigs so all you have to do it press it and the links are done for you.

now this is the important part, as OP said, Fiverr is never going to pay the bills, i mainly use it for paying the hosting fees and other small change bills, however the golden nugget is in the buyer. Every time i have a sale i make sure that i deliver on time and fast, that way it will make you out as a good seller, but the key here is to then sell them other services outside of Fiverr.

Now it is against Fiverr's TOC to leave contact details so what you do is you send them a txt file with your details i.e. contact number, website address etc and what you can offer more ,for example i send them a txt file with a link to my web address offering them web site building services. Most buyers are not internet marketers, and once they've bought your gig they have already have their wallet open so they would be more than willing to hear what you have got on offer. The worst that can happen is they say not interested.

Another important point is to always ask for feedback once you have delivered the gig. This is important as it will not only increases your sales potential, but also give you top seller status once you reach a certain point. Most gigs offered are the same on Fiverr, to stand out and make that sale a buyer would look at feedback to give him/her reassurance that you are a good seller......take for example an identical gig from 2 different sellers, one has no feedback and the other has 20.....which one would you go for? Feedback is vital to having a successful gig and more sales on Fiverr, so make sure you ask for it!

These are my tips for being a successful Fiverr seller and are based on my current experiences which im glad to say has netted me quite a few good clients. Fiverr can make you $$$$$ a month, but not from just selling gigs, the real money is in the services offered outside of it and your job is to offer it to them once the buyer has taken a bite on your gig!

        Hope that helps

Fiverr is a pretty good site. Keep in mind that it does take them awhile to pay you. There are some great fiverr guides here and there are many ways to make money there.

Congrats! Are you willing to let us know what sort of niche it was in? I don't expect you to torpedo your listing by putting it up here, but was it a service you did, or an item your provided, or something else?

I know a guy who had 600 orders for him to write something on his stomach and dance for 30 seconds in a video. On the flip side, I know another gal who offered up plr, and when I emailed her to ask how it went, her answer was "it didn't."

So I'm curious to see what sells and what doesn't.

I can imagine some of the fiverrs are great sellers - but the most money they make is from their "real" backend products that sell for much more.

I buy gigs off of fiverr at least once a week.
So there are plenty of buyers.
For example I decided to experiment with the Google plus. I paid someone $5 to give an article 150 pluses 2 days ago. It has already jumped from the 4th page of google to have way down page 2. Cool. But I am curious to see if google slaps it as unnatural.

Anyhow. fiverr marketing gigs like that are a cheap way to experiment.

A belated congrats to you on the sale!

Many people often ask "how to I make money online?"

And one of the most popular resonses is "do a gig on Fiverr!"

It really can be simple to start making money and scale up. And the cool thing about it is that once things get really busines you can easily deligate the gigs to an outsource staff and take your hands off of the work load!
