Questions About Niche Blogging.

Well looking at the numbers when people start out is far from appealing. It's great to see people making a few cents, their first sale etc. Everyone needs to start somewhere.

My question is do you think it's viable to start out making 50 cents on day 1 & continuing to to make just 50 cents more each day by submitting an article to article directory & blog post? Such as $1 day 2, 1.50 day 3 & so on the 30th day you make $15 & a to of $230.50 for the month. A daily constant like that would be hard to maintain but I think the gravity of submitting an article to directories & blog posts daily along w/ various ways to monetize the blog would make more in a decent niche.

I'm really wondering about the daily/weekly upkeep on a single blog.

A few more questions.
Is a blog post needed daily or 5X a week?

If you were to write multiple articles for directories do you submit all at the same time or 1 every day or 2 etc.

Squidoo lens, I see people having multiple to single blog, why multiple?

As I read over this I am aware I'm over-analyzing a bit but would appreciate anyones answers/input.

It's good to have daily posts to your blog for the first few weeks to build up content. You'd like the RSS feed of your blog to be picked up for back links and visitors. To do this you need content on the blog.

Most seem to do article submissions in small numbers per day but I know of at least one marketer who will have 20-25 articles written and submit them to 20 directories all at the same time. As I usually write my own articles, I submit them to EzineArticles as they are completed and then submit to other directories after being approved by EA.

Ha ha after I posted this I seen a paralysis/ analysis post & taking action is better than planning post, funny how the world works huh?

Yes I will take a look at that post. I've read a bunch & don't think I seen that so thanks.

So since EZA is the powerhouse of article directories, it's probably best to submit & get approved within a few days then submit to the rest?

      Thanks again Ivan.

I would definitely recommend that you get approved by EZA first, if you plan on mass distributing articles to various directories. EZA can be pretty picky about what they accept, where as most other article directories are desperate for content.

    1.
In my opinion you need to blog every day.Your blog is your virtual real estate that becomes more valuable for each day.If you monetize your content with adsense or similar, the chance of someone finding your content on the search engines, coming to your blog and clicking on the ad increases.

A blog post doesn´t have to be a 1000 word novel, a short story and links to other related sites will do fine.Remember to look for things that people are talking about in your niche, forums are good places to do this.

    2.
I write one article (500-700 words) and post the original on my blog, then I write new versions of the same article and submit them to the biggest article directories on the same day.

    3.
I have made 2 Squidoo lenses about home business marketing and web2.0 and social media. From these lenses I link back to related articles on my blog.Multiple lenses are good for revenue, you will get a portion of the adsense revenue, ebay sales and amazon sales made from your lenses.

No. Most of my niche blogs only see a new post every 8-12 weeks. Some haven't had a new post for over a year. Because the keyword selection was good they'll get 200-1200 unique visitors a day essentially on autopilot. More competitive niches need more attention though but I avoid highly competitive niches.

If you do EZA, do it first, wait for approval, then blast out the rest. Remember that there is a lag time for approval on article sites and some are faster approvers than others. Plus Google is slow about spidering lesser article directories. These built-in lags cause the links to appear naturally so there's no need to you to add to the mess.

If you're focused around a tight niche you only need one. If your niche is broad, there's some advantage to building out lens for long tail terms you want to get traffic for.

You don't NEED to post to your blog everyday. A proven formula is to start off a blog with 5 posts. Then add a new post every 3 or 4 days.

The real work come with building backlinks. Start with article marketing. Go slowly, maybe 4 or 5 links a day is safe. It's not a good idea to get too many links at once.

I would create an excel file. Put the URL of each post of your blog down the left column. Then across the top each column represents a backlink strategy, such as EZA or various bookmarking sites, etc. Then slowly and systematically build backlinks to EACH post of your blog, not just the homepage. In 6 months to a year, you'll be able to leave that blog alone and it will just keep churning out money. I know, I'm doing it now.

      Regards,

      Jonathan

4 or 5 links a day, you mean submissions to 5 different article directories a day right?

Googlewise, it is actually not advisable to submit an article to multiple directories... The best is to rewrite the original one and then blast it..

I've been blogging for over 3-years now in multiple niches and generating thousands of articles, ezines over the last 8-years...a few words of advice:

      1. A good first step is to understand your business model - how do you want to make money? If you're objective is to promote other people's products through affiliate marketing - then know what affiliate packages you want to promote. Why? Because shotgun based content can be a BIG waste of time.

Here's what I mean - if I look back at the first 3-4 years I spent online generating content everday, **some**of that content drives terrific traffic and sales to me today, but **most** does NOT.

It's the 80/20 rule - 20% (or even less) of the content I developed generates more than 80% of my profits online.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have figured out what the keywords, phrases and topics were that resulted in profit first - then focus your content development in those areas?

So that's my advice - you need to work backwards from a monetization strategy, figure out the most profitable way to drive traffic to that model, then work your content in alignment with the 80% rather than the 20% - make sense?

rolling stones can't get no satisfaction lyrics

Plus, you aren't concerned about where the articles place in search results, just that the link gets counted.

I have a niche site that I was posting on every other day or so and wrote several articles that got me some backlinks my site ended up on the first page of G for 3 weeks then got sandboxed, where it is today somewhere back there in the abyss. So I suppose I did too many posts too fast and wrote too many articles that sent backlinks too fast. Would this be correct? I don't see any other explanation. I'm a pretty clueless newbie and admit it.
