I am a total newbie to IM and I must say I am TOTALLY lost. I'm wondering should I use WordPress for my website? Should I do it myself (I can do it, just might take a few days) or should I outsource it. Like most (or all) I want it up and running ASAP ...and of course making money NOW!! as i want to get involved with AdSense campaigns too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
#start

    1. What type of website?
    2. What niche?
    3. What product are you promoting?

    Lots of missing information there that is pertinent to your endeavor...

    For me, wordpress is hands down the easiest CMS to use and it has plugins for pretty much everything you could think of (free and paid).

    There is a lot to learn and you should temper your expectations. As a newbie, I wouldn't expect to make my first dollar for at least a few weeks as there is a lot to learn about just optimizing your wordpress blog.

    Also, the most important thing is finding a niche that you can monetize. Do that and the money will follow.

    Yes, start with a Wordpress blog and do it yourself. You need to know how things work before you outsource anything. Sure you can outsource more technically demanding stuff but it's not hard to put up WP and it brings great pleasure to have done it yourself and know how everything work!

    Welcome to the wonderful world of IM!

    WordPress is a great Content Management System (CMS) which I use for all my customers and in all of my own websites that create passive income.

    Yes, you can do it yourself but if you want to start making money, your better investment is in spending your time on marketing and promoting great offers that convert.

    If you are wanting things done ASAP so you can focus on creating content and marketing, then outsource it or invest in a website that is already setup and earning.

    Your business model will determine what marketing methods you should use so before you invest any time into building a website, make sure you have converting offers and/or keywords that you can rank for if you are doing Adsense.

    Welcome to IM and best of luck to you! Leah

      Hi, and welcome to the best place in the world of IM, the Warrior Forum.

      Finding the WF so early in your ventures can save you so much grief and frustration. Forget the false promises you read elsewhere, here you will find real IMers, running their own businesses, who can give it to you straight, with an honest and sincere willingness to help.
      You will find many threads stating that:
      1. You won't be a miilionaire overnight;
      2. You can make a success in this business;
      3. You will need to be prepared to work;
      4. You do need to focus on one single thing in the beginning
      These facts apply no matter which particular route you decide to take. If you're looking for a quick, easy buck, then IM may not be for you.

      We all understand what you mean by lost. Many of us (me included) have been there. You obviously need some help in finding which path to follow, and where to start. The Warriors can help, but not all in one go. When you have a question, simply ask it here, but be as specific as possible. There are specialists in many aspects of Internet Marketing, so the more specific you are, the better solutions you will find from an expert.

      Wordpress.
      Wordpress is a great way to start, especially if you have no web design skills yourself. Now, all my online real estate is with Wordpress, whether it's a blog or a website. WP offers flexibility without the need for prior knowledge.

      1. Your Niche Market
      You need to identify which 'niche' you want to focus on. Without this decision, you will find it difficult to make headway quickly. Search ubder 'finding a niche', 'which niche should I use', 'how to find a suitable niche to promote/market', and similar phrases. You will find many blogs and sites which can guide you how to choose, totally free of charge. If you already know what you want to promote, then search under that term for information and reference.

      2. Coaching and Mentoring
      One of the best decisions you can make in the beginning is to find a GOOD coaching or mentoring program/course. This will save you tons of time, money and frustration, right from the start.

      3. Easiest for a newbie?
      Probably the easiest (and often) quickest route to making an ongoing income is by Affiliate Marketing. You don't need to have your own products (yet), and it can be a very low cost way to start. Some of the most successful top dogs in IM openly admit tat they started out with Affiliate Marketing. Even if you do decide this is for you, it still requires your efforts to make it work, as there are a number of new skills to be mastered.
      So how do you get those skills?

      4. Find a guide.
      Probably the best investment you can make, is to find a good, trustwothy coaching course or mentor. A reliable mentor can save you an enormous amount of time, money and frustration while you build a business up from ground zero. Everything is put into the right order with guidance on the various elements to be learned, such as Traffic Generation, List Building, SEO etc.
      It's certainly a better investment than buying loads of WSOs and other systems, blueprints and other dubious push button magical offers.

      I hope this helps you sort out your confusion, and you use some of the advice.

      Remember: Focus on one thing to start, and persevere till it works.

      Cherrs and good luck

      Alan

    There's nothing wrong with outsourcing your website design especially when you're in a hurry to start and make money online. However, I would agree to the people above who suggest that you take your time to learn the ropes before you can expect to earn any income. Learning everything you need to know about the business, even things as basic as building your own website, would help you in the long run. More importantly, it would make your success more fulfilling.

    Thanks,
    Since you mentioned Wordpress, you should know that in internet marketing, it has become the standard, so building a niche site that focuses on a specific theme like dating, weight loss, gardening, learn Spanish, make money... and usually contain product reviews and related info would be a great way to go--especially with the holidays coming up. You can use them to generate multiple income sources from the same blog, generate residual income - work once but continue to get paid with no extra work, work around your own schedule and more.

    The down side to having an adsense site is that stastistically, it takes just as many visitors to get an adsense click from which you will earn pennies as it does to make money with a niche blog selling other people's products (affiliate marketing). It's like choosing to make .30 vs. $30+. Oh, you also shouldn't use adsense and affiliate marketing on the same page because once someone clicks on an ad, it takes them from your site. With affiliate marketing, the customer should have two choices: make a purchase or leave.

    Good luck,
    Joey

    Thanks,
    For total newbies, I would recommend SBI. It guides you all along the way on research, choosing a niche, making your site and eventually monetizing it.
    Its a more sure way of getting to success online.

    However, you can also start with services like AmMyBossWebServices (.) info where you get a website made for you on your choice niche, get it up and running with 30 days of targeted traffic of 500-1000 visitors a day. The cost starts at $199.

    This can help you start up raking some profits to venture into other avenues of money making. It's a good otion for those who have no idea where to start but have need for cash soonest.

    I hope this helps.
