I am wondering about the "asl" ( age, sex, location ) for the users here who are making real money oneline. I am interested at what age did you started doing this, what have you graduaded - school, collage, etc. Does you degree helped you with what you are doing or or schooling was in other direction? How much time did you spend on your online business and what you are actually doing and what is ur monthly income - questions like that.
If you have a few minutes please share this info with me ( and the rest of the readers of this topic ) thank you -.- |

Hi,
Perhaps you'll get a better response if you tell people - a) about yourself b) why you want to know Hope this helps. |

wicked,
That's a lot a confidential info you would like access to. Personally, I would feel EXTREMELY UNSAFE giving out that kind of stuff to anybody, let alone a completely unknown poster on a forum. Martin |

Hmmm interesting reactions, am I so naive? Nah I don't think so. How is it unsafe to tell someone your age, general location and general educational background?
People are so on guard around here lately and I know sometimes it's valid (there ARE a lot of creeps and spammers lurking) but the guy's just asking some simple stuff.. sure who knows what his motives are but was his post that bad? Maybe he's not worded it as nicely as some others but this type of stuff has been asked before in other ways, and people don't have any problem participating. I agree with Roger that the OP would get a better response by following his advice though, but definitely disagree with Martin that talking about your "asl" is unsafe. Karen |

Karen,
He/she/it is asking for a lot more than age, sex, location. Your schooling, your income. These things can help id thieves get a good idea about your life. Sure they can find out most of this anyway by doing some research but why hand it to them on a plate? I'm not saying this is the case with this OP, but don't you think it's a strange question for a low post, no name person to be asking? Martin |

Name: Theft Identity
Age: 106 Sex: unknown Location: the moon College: moon college J/K ![]() I think your asking to many personal questions and many wont want to give all this info over on a public forum. Martin, I agree, am not saying this is the case here, however someone with all this information could do a good job impersonating for example a warrior with a great reputation and use it to there own gain or worst still to scam people. -paul |

Martin,
I have to say I agree with you. Having had my Paypal account hacked recently I'm even more wary than before about giving out information online. And especially to someone new to the forum who doesn't even use their own name! Just my opinion. Nigel Quote:

I've seen males and females with advanced degrees use those degrees to pull down loads of cash online. I've seen males and females who've dropped out of school pull down loads of cash online. I've seen kids (and I mean kids -- not even teenagers) making money online. I've seen retired folks put up websites and make money online. I've seen unemployed folks spend 20 hours a day online... and they made money. I've seen people working full time jobs who could only squeeze a few hours in per week... and they made money. I've seen a woman who supported a disabled husband, their ten kids and her mother in law with just her self-employed income. (Talk about time management.) I've seen people in rural areas with dial up connections make money... and I've seen people in big cities with fast connections make money. I've seen people roll out neat little business plans, find hungry niches, find products to serve those niches... and they made money online. I've seen people roll out crazy ideas (like selling dog poop) and they make money online. And you know what? I've also seen all the groups above struggle and not make money online. Bottom line -- you can't use age, sex, location or any other demographic to determine whether you'll make money (and for sure don't use it as an excuse!). It all comes down to YOU, your desire, your mindset and your ability to take action. Everything else is just a detail that really doesn't matter. cheers, Becky

I don't know, the OP didn't strike me as strange. I guess I've been curious of the same before - like... how old are a lot of my peers in this field? What educational background do they have and did it help them etc.. I could see myself wondering the same questions is all. But I do agree that asking about income is odd, I never liked those types of questions so just choose to ignore it.But you got me thinking.. what if some people responded and actually gave out private information that could be used to harm them? Just because I would never do that doesn't mean somebody else couldn't fall prey to that. All in all, I really don't think there's any big bad motives behind the OP but what do I know (what does anyone know)?? It's good to be on the alert. And OP is certainly not being responsive in his own thread so what does that tell us? Good points all around, Karen

@Becky, great response. I like how you replied from a non-personal point of view and agree with much of what you said. No amount of demographic data from people running businesses online or making some cash online is going to help you do the same. But then again we have no idea why the OP was asking which is what Roger was saying, more details would be appreciated.
