The word 'software' stops me buying ...
I use exclusively, Apple Mac computers, and of course I love 'em.
However, if there's one word which flags up 'No Sale', it's the word 'Software'.
As soon as someone tries to tell me that their product's software, with no further information, I move on.
For a while I bought interesting software products, only to find that they only run on Windows PCs; even basic things like video files which were wrapped up in .exe files etc.
Needless to say, I had to ask for a refund, as I couldn't use the product (and I'm no serial refunder).
To the vendors: If your product is some sort of software, why not add a line in the sales page explaining that it requires a Windows operating system?
It would save us both a lot of trouble.
And before someone suggests it, I do run Windows 7 under Parallels Desktop on one of my machines, but it's too slow to put to any dedicated use, and it means that the Windows application is working in a separate sector to all my other files.
Of course, it may actually increase your sales, if you state that it works under Windows or MacOSX.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Alan
