I want to work online, advice needed please

Hi.

The idea of having a 9-5 job with non flexible work hours is not very free in my opinion.
My dream is to some day having a job that is not based on me living at a specific location, but doing a task that can be done anywhere as long as having an Internet connection.

I´ve tried Internet marketing, and I´ve really tried it to a point that made be burned out, so I don´t want to go that route again. (although some check come in a few times a year)

I much rather perform a task (taking hours/days or maybe weeks) and getting payed when the job is completed or something similar. I don´t have any special skills so learning is something that is required.

What do you suggest I should learn and get good at so that I at some point can get some good money that can hopefully some day replace my day job. (but I´m happy to just earn some extra cash at start) I´m from northern country in Europe so I need to make some cash that is comparable to my expenses.

What do you suggest I should do as a start?, I´ve been thinking about translation but I´m not sure if English to Swedish translation is something that is in demand...
I´m sorry if this is a little of topic

Sincerely
Karl

It looks like you're looking for something like a Freelance career. My suggestion would be to take a look at the Warriors For Hire section of the forum and see what everyone else is doing so you can apply to your particular set of skills. Good luck!

Why are we always thinking that somebody that expressly stated "no skills" - can write?

Sorry, Mary, I know your intentions were good... it just doesn't make sense to give this idea to every newcomer. The net is already full of crappy content, there is no need for another "writer" who would write useless text.
There is so much text and so few articles around the www

P.S. Nothing personal to the OP. Maybe he's the next Hemingway or Nabokov. Although most likely he's looking for some kind of VA job. Not being in business but to have J.O.B.

        Hi,

I think you are more interested in the career of a freelancer, right? Well, freelancing can be fun and very rewarding, but remember that it is really hard getting your first job and you must have/develop skills.

You can try out this website where freelancing basics are discussed.

    Hey Karl,

I'm not sure I really follow your reasoning here. You said you don't want a 9-5 job but you want to get paid for performing tasks? If you mean creating info products that you can sell then I see that, but if you are just wanting to do freelance work by providing services for people, you need to outsource it if you want it to not be like a 9-5 job.

If you just want some quick cash for freelance work you could try iWriter, if you're writing skills are good, or try getting some work on Freelancer, but the competition there is fierce.

Honestly I would try to either create info products to sell and get affiliates to sell them to automate the process of cash flow or just focus on a solid proven affiliate marketing business model, like niche sites and SEO.

I know you said you got burned out, and I personally know how frustrating this can be but I have learned to just find a solid proven business model and go for it all out until you make money. Find a product people are desperate for, and give it to them. You will make money if you stay at it and refuse to quit.

    Good luck!
